That's a leap! Where is it?Supermofo wrote: ↑Mon Feb 07, 2022 3:34 pm So bought the Pre-Reg GSXS 1000
Part of me thinks what the fluck have I done. The other part thinks it's the best thing since chips
They are delivering it 25 Feb which is the earliest they can do. Which is annoying as my 690 insurance runs out on the 22nd So need to look into some sort of short term insurance.
The bike has a warranty till Dec 23. First service is quoted at £250 by Suzuki I'll see what Letchworth or St Neott's prices are like. Apparently I can go to any VAT registered place but think for the first service at least I'll use Suzuki.
So milky bars are on me
Will stick a new bike fred up soon.
PS. It's a gixxer fing init.

Re: My next bike
Possibly, the biggest sticking point their end was getting it through the workshop. Apparently they pre reg'd it as a demo bike and then went into lockdown for months so it sat in the warehouse till they had new ones in so now they've discounted it to get rid. Price wise it was cheaper than 2nd bikes of the same age.

It should be 25 quid for oil, a tenner for the filter and an hour to do the oil change and a bolt check.Supermofo wrote: ↑Mon Feb 07, 2022 4:36 pmBloke put me on hold to check the price for me. Came back on and said 'Sorry for laughing but I've just checked as Suzuki have a guide price for all servicing now and it's £250 which is well over the top". He only said that as he knew I wouldn't be going there for servicing as they are in Brighton. Hoping Letchworth don't use the Suzuki price!

Indeed. My last 1st service was on the 690. Think it cost me 40 quid in consumables, labour was free.

Re: My next bike
Should be, but then again they have a massive building to pay for where you can see all their bikes, buy their parts, their helmets, clothing etc.dern wrote: ↑Mon Feb 07, 2022 5:06 pmIt should be 25 quid for oil, a tenner for the filter and an hour to do the oil change and a bolt check.Supermofo wrote: ↑Mon Feb 07, 2022 4:36 pmBloke put me on hold to check the price for me. If it were a shed, then sure. But that's like complaining a Costa should only be 45p

Re: My next bike
Nice one , tis a very tidy bike. First service is a rip off, but we live in England, we should be used to it by now.
I liked the one with the yellow belly pan, whichever that was.

Re: My next bike
I understand the concept of profit but the price for the oil and filter are retail and they won't pay retail and an hourly rate should be about £60 an hour. Even if they mark up more on the parts that still only a hundred quid or so, not £250.
