TRC, time to let go of the apron strings ?

Post by weeksy »

Just had a PM from the old boss WB,

Basically all the TRC type names are due to expire shortly.

So if anyone goes to www.therecvounter.com currently they get re-directed to here.

He's give us the option to buy the names.... It's not crazy money... But needs some admin and a new account creating then yearly Admin.

But my question is, is it now time to let TRC go and stand alone ?

Thoughts.

The redirect doesn't work for me anyway, from a google link or typing in the homepage URL.

I don't see much point in keeping it.

Well, www.therevcounter.co.uk redirects here anyway ;)

tbh I'd let it go. Unless massive of new traffic comes in that way?

Noddingdogs.org redirects to here, not that anybody would even consider trying noddingdogs, it's been dead that long.

Afternoon boss.

Let them go mate, I think it's time to stand on our own 2 feet and walk.

Very much appreciated though.

Impossible to know who came from there or didn't really. It's not like we get 20 members a month from it that's for sure.

Same here and the same opinion.

Unless there is any benefit from IT trickery in the future that I know nothing about.

Redirect never worked for me for quite some time anyway. It does on Android funnily enough as does the Amazon link problem.

Doesn't sound worth the hassle.

BTW I gather that TRC was available as an archived site. Has that gone too?

I've not really settled here in the way I did on TRC, as shown by my low post number, but part of that could be because I moved here just as the pandemic took hold and for the last two years I've had even less of interest to talk about than usual.
WB did a great job and Weeksy is doing now so I think it's time for RTTL to move on.

Now I must lie down. As a Yorkie, I'm not used to complimenting a Scouser.

If that's part of it, what's the rest out of interest?

Never look back.

VD was great, TRC was great, RTTL is great, one day something else will be great (if I live that long)
