Re: A proper mans bike
That's race bike handling compared to any 70s superbike.

Re: A proper mans bike
I tried to put my 1100N on the ABBA stand today, the previous owner fitted some chrome finisher thing in the pivot castle nut and I can't get the bloody thing out.

I've had the mole grips on it and some long nose pliers, thing won't even twist, never mind pull out.

Can you get a bar similar in diameter to the inside of the swinger bolt and blatter it from the other side?

Nope, there's no hole. I'll have a better look when I get it out of the garage, up in a tight spot at the moment.

The slabby 1100 is a big pussy cat, the 750 is the bike that's going to kill you, the frames flex on the 750s and they're very, very tyre sensitive.

The wheels flex on the early 1100s plus they don't have a great choice of tyre.Le_Fromage_Grande wrote: ↑Sat Feb 05, 2022 5:33 pm The slabby 1100 is a big pussy cat, the 750 is the bike that's going to kill you, the frames flex on the 750s and they're very, very tyre sensitive.
Now a GPz1100 with a bore kit. That's terrifying.

Re: A proper mans bike
That one had a chain drive conversion and probably loads of frame bracing - the race is on YouTube btw.
Standard XS1100s are truly scary at speed, standard big Kawasakis feel on the edge at speed, the XS feels out of control.
Best thing that happened to the one I rode was the idiot owner starting it up without the cam chain tensioner in, it never moved after that.

I watched that on you tube, everything else blew up, it was the tortoise and the hare with motorbikes.
