Dating A New Motorcycle

No, no...not going out for a date in a posh restaurant. Rather, how can you tell if a new Honda is a 2021 or 2022 model?

Is it shown on the frame?

The reason I ask is this: A dealer is showing a new model as 2022 but the colour is different from Honda’s 2022 colour. There is also a difference in the tech specs.

Usually the colours change each year

Colours change in different regions too. It might still be a 2022 model, but imported from a different market.

If you really want to be sure, get the frame number and ring Honda UK.

Doesn't it normally say on the frame number plate anyway?

It's probably going to be a 2021 model not registered until 2022 tho'

If it's in 21 colours and 21 spec it will be a 21. Sometimes it's only colour change so don't matter, might even get a bit knocked off for making them aware of their mistake. .

Mine was registered as a 2016. I know it isnt a 2016 as that model was only made 2012-2014 and the entire bike changed as of 2015
