Those of us with flat bars used to put hand on front of tank.
But that's a famous pic of him changing gear as well. GT250.

Re: Great bike pictures!
I think it stopped when 250 GP class was scrapped.
500s went about same time IIRC

Re: Great bike pictures!
Way back in 1983 & 1985.I remember being on the grid at Aintree with Foggy, both of us in novice jackets,he was on a Ducati, think it was a Rutter F2 replica. Back in the paddock I asked "Who's that novice on a Ducati?" someone replied George Fogarty's son.He was on Ducati's a long time before he rode Superbikes.
I'm sure it was Black for 125,Green for 250,Blue for 350,Yellow for 500 & Red for the Diesels.

Green plates for the 250's? It was when I raced a 250LC
I'm sure it was Black for 125,Green for 250,Blue for 350,Yellow for 500 & Red for the Diesels.
I think 750 was red. 1300 was white?

Re: Great bike pictures!
When I raced Earlystocks, 250's were green, 500's were yellow, cos the RD400's had yellow boards and I had yellow on my XBR500. Red was 750's and white for the big bikes, iirc
