Re: Suzuki GT380 Cafe Racer
Matey had a black 380 back in the 70s,my early RD350 Yams used to eat it.
Triples had a lovely noise,though.
That one isn't bad. Don't like paintjob, front guard and seat unit.

Re: Suzuki GT380 Cafe Racer
I quite like the styling, although it's a little bit Hello Dolly for someone like me, I'd look ridiculous(er).
But if the engine is a bit shit (and I'll take your word for it) it's a definite no. I've gone off air cooled motors - they're too mechanically noisy and likely to go pop.

I don't remember GT380s ever producing enough power to go pop, they were jingly, jangly, vibey and slow.

Re: Suzuki GT380 Cafe Racer
Well apart from the lack of airbox (caused by the monoshock) I kind of like it.

Re: Suzuki GT380 Cafe Racer
It's quite a nice bike,I think it would have been even nicer with RWU forks & twin shocks & a airbox

Re: Suzuki GT380 Cafe Racer
IIRC, the RD350s and RD400s were far better. And the GT550 weren't much dearer.

I reckon anything that has survived this long and with that sort of pedigree has gone pop at least a few times by now.Le_Fromage_Grande wrote: ↑Tue Feb 01, 2022 4:58 pm I don't remember GT380s ever producing enough power to go pop, they were jingly, jangly, vibey and slow.

Re: Suzuki GT380 Cafe Racer
One of the clowns I worked with crafted a ram air cowl from sheet alloy and stuck it on his Bantam.
