Donington - 27th April

Post by dern »

I've booked a day at Donington on Wednesday the 27th of April if anyone else is going. I've not been there before so very excited.

I'm in novices by the way.

Cheers,

Mark

Oh you'll love that. It's a great place. You staying overnight locally? Curry house nearby called Ghandi is fab!

I was planning on driving up there in the morning. I could stay in the van but I could leave at 5am and be there on time.

I'd check beforehand. It was a few years ago.
And they let me put bike in the garage so I got a bit more time in bed :obscene-birdiedoublered:

Edit. The grounds outside paddock are huge and definitely somewhere to kip.

You'll be lucky, the circuit won't let you camp- Yorick is special ;)

But the good news is there is a decent and not at all usually expensive (£40ish) choice of both HolidayInn Express and Premier just a mile or two up the road, and the curry house @weeksy mentions is definitely worth a visit, owner (bloke holding the plate in the photo on the homepage here http://www.gandhicastle.co.uk/index.html ) is a bit of a comedian, so can be fun (the first couple of times, anyway  )

I might try and get along to this one if I can

I'll check with them, thanks. I camped in the paddock at Cadwell and that made the morning much easier as that's a slog to do in one day.

Donington is only 58 miles from my door, 42 miles of which are on the M1.

I pootled down one Saturday to watch Weeksy and Couchie on a trackday, but they'd gone home early!

Don't camp, East Midlands Airport flies all night, you won't get much sleep.

Yeah. You were right behind me.

I only did that day to see if I went faster on a bike that wouldn't cost me if I crashed.
The harder you pushed me, the harder I went.
That was an insane day. Awesome.
