Sepang, MotoGP mini-test/shakedown

Post by weeksy »

Obviously not too many out there.

1 Raul Fernandez SPA KTM Tech3 (RC16)* 2m 0.898s
2 Michele Pirro ITA Ducati Test Rider (GP) +0.144s
3 Mika Kallio FIN KTM Test Rider (RC16) +0.352s
4 Lorenzo Savadori ITA Aprilia Test Rider (RS-GP) +0.778s
5 Remy Gardner AUS KTM Tech3 (RC16)* +0.954s
6 Marco Bezzecchi ITA Mooney VR46 Ducati (GP)* +1.114s
7 Darryn Binder RSA WithU Yamaha RNF (YZR-M1)* +1.248s
8 Sylvain Guintoli FRA Suzuki Test Rider (GSX-RR) +1.283s
9 Fabio Di Giannantonio ITA Gresini Ducati (GP)* +1.698s
10 Yamaha Test2 N/A Yamaha Test Rider (YZR-M1) +2.544s
11 Yamaha Test1 N/A Yamaha Test Rider (YZR-M1) +2.718s

Raul Fernandez was fastest as 2022 MotoGP track action got underway at Sepang in Malaysia on Monday, with the start of the Shakedown test.

The five rookies, plus test riders and concession manufacturer Aprilia are eligible to take part in the three-day outing, which is followed by the Official test - for all competitors - on February 5-6.

However, Aprilia left their day one work to test rider Lorenzo Savadori - neither Aleix Espargaro or Maverick Vinales appearing on track - with Honda test rider Stefan Bradl also sitting out the opening day.

Fernández must be learning fast to
be ahead of Pirro.

And just over a second off the lap record.

I think Raul Fernandez will out-shine his current (and former) team mate by quite a margin over the season.
There is no cloud, just somebody else's computer.

Endurance? Yeah I think so.
He's not going to be slow is he.
He's probably glad to get away from his 6 children.

Don't they say having a wean knocks half a second off your lap time?

He's doing all right for that.

Cal announced he has signed for the Factory Race team as their test rider for the next 2 years ;)

I think thats what we would call topping up the pension nicely ..... and still getting to play on the latest kit without all the PR stuff he hated from racing
