Cotic Bfe

Post by Mr Moofo »

Okay - it is a Bitsa

15 year old cranks that work just fine
As do the ancient V2 Hope brakes - which must be 2010 at the latest.
The front wheel is stolen from the FlareMax until the new wheel shows up
Running as a mullet ( because that is the wheel I had but with a boost adapter on it and a 2.6 tyre) but with a normal 30 psi pressure in it.

Test ridden on Sunday - and it was a delight to ride - it fits me better that the Oka did - it is that bit longer. Also the bottom bracket is completely silent!
The dropper post routing is temporary - I cannot bring myself to fork out for another dropper - just as it will be stealth , so this one will have to do - and I will shorten the cable soon

Will take some more pictures later

I love the way a nice tubed HT looks, but the riding leaves a bit to be desired for what i do. If i were back on Ridgeway duties every week, maybe...

As for that monstrosity on the front and rear.... sheesh.

That is a fair comment - they are not as comfortable as FS, and they do let you know a) when you have fucked up b) your age.
But they are better to ride when it's muddy - less cleaning
And there is severe case of over biking on the South Downs - most can easily be achieved on a HT - much like the Ridgeway.
To be fair - it wouldn't be the choice for the Surrey Hills
