Motorbike rear wheel spinners, any good?

Does anyone use a rear wheel spinner? I used to have one of those adjustable big ball bearing types which was just about okay to use for lubing chain etc. As the MT doesn't have a center stand I could do with having another and note they are a roller affair now. Anyone got one? Any good?

I've had one for years, similar to that one only made of aluminum and knurled, I bought it to take on tours to be able to lube the chain single-handed, seemed a good idea at the time but ended up holding it on the sidestand while someone else squirted as it was easier so have never really used it.
That's the only reason I can think for having one, a paddock stand or centre stand ( or a helper to tilt whilst you squirt or vice-versa ) is infinitely preferable IMO

( And mine is a bit more Gucci than the one you linked to - looks like this )

Yes, that would be the normal choice, but that means going to the shed, bringing it round the front, hooking the bike up on it and then putting it all back. Whereas if I had one of these hidden under the hedge out the front with the chain oil, it'd be much more convenient, and likely to get done more often, iyswim?

If I don't have a centre stand, I tilt the bike over on the side stand (like you do when you're spinning the bike around) and wedge something under the swingarm (like an axel stand) to keep the rear wheel off the floor, simples.

Get yourself an abba stand, they have adaptors to fit most bikes and is one of the most useful accessory/tools I’ve ever bought.

I had one of those. I didn't really like it as when I turned the wheel it kept slipping out to the edge and then getting stuck. Only years later, the last time I saw a thread on these, did I realise what the black rubber puck thing was for

Oil the bits you can see, move it a foot, oil the rest. Everything else seems unnecessarily complicated compared to that.

That's the method I was trying to describe.

My 'rents garage had some bolts he'd made to lock the up and over door to the floor, they were the perfect length for wedging under the Blade swingarm.

There was a motrax gadget called a stand stick.I had one for my srx in 95 .

Bought one from Busters/M&P snd it arrived 2 days later. Good heavy bit of kit and not flimsy as expected. I’ll give it a try over the weekend.
