Whats the ergonomics like on these for a taller rider? Is it a sporty/leaning forward riding position? Are the pegs quite high?
TIA
It's no 690
Smaller and higher pegs
Shame as on paper it does seem like an ideal bike for me, but I don't think my knee would take that riding position? I'll maybe get a sit on one at some point.
Did you have to mention the 690! I swore no more KTMs, but it does have a good riding position and is lighter than my NCX and, no, no. Stop it!
Tricky one to answer, even though tighter on knee than 690 it's not bothered me yet in the same way a 790 did at times, so, errrrm maybe.
Part of me was gutted backing out of the 690 I had short term, but the mt07 is a joy too along with being very Japanese in its efficiency etc.

I hear you there! Hell of a bike those 690s and very enjoyable, but I've stopped myself from looking at them, in case I get trigger happy one night whilst under the influence and browsing eBay!
The MT intrigues me though, The whole range does tbh. I'm with Henry Ford when it comes to colour schemes, yet I find myself loving the look of grey bikes with red or yellow wheels! They certainly get good write ups from the Journos. Lok forward to spring and a few more write up on yours.

I know I'll be in the minority here but I think it's going to go back to standard tail end.
I think the tidy just looks a bit too cut.

Dodgy knees has all kinds of good tips forya.
I'm sure mrs knees is putting something in his tomato soup and it's not Viagra
I think it looks better with the standard tail end
Oddly though, with the tail tidy it looks a bit LC like, more so than the XSR700 or 900 ever do.
The handlebars look like Ape Hangers btw.
It'd look nice with the grey bit of the tank black, lose the blue and red stripes, a round headlight, the clocks above the headlight and some lower bars.
I've got the mighty MT07 booked in next Fri for servicing. Will be nice to get it done before the good weather starts.
I'll also pick up the parts needed to put the back end back together... "why does it need new parts" ??? LOL.. well when i was trying to get the tail end off i couldn't get one of the mounting bolts out, which ended up stripping and in my impatience i ended up cutting off the plastic section to get it off.... So i need a new one of those.
Sounds like you're in the same position as I am with my 890- I had a J-Tech one on my previous one and the 790, always thought it was a bit too chavvy/streetfighter really , but not a big fan of the massive standard affair so bought a new one for the current 890 yonks ago ( as in the pic below with new more standard /less pikey looking back light than the J-Tech one had) and 8x6 plate for it, but is still sitting in the box 6 months later as I can't decide .
Anyway, your musings have just reminded me of it, so I think I'll put mine on in the next week or two, and see how I feel about it then- summer's coming and all that

Exactly.... the bikes have been forgotten for far too long at the moment.
I'm off to MSG this Sat if you wanna grab a coffee and bacon roll at Thame for a natter. Dropping the ZX6 off there.

For me they look like an afterthought. Its like the bike builders design and build a bike and then the legal guys say oh, add a number plate hanger. They just look wrong and out of place??

Them's the rules, the rear wheel can't be the most rearward bit of a bike

Aye, don't stop them looking crap though...
We're going to have to disagree... Mine will be standard by the end of the month. It's in for 1st service a week on Fri and i'll collect the bits to put back to stock then.
