Looks good, I'd change the exhaust and run the oil cooler hoses over the top of the engine, but yeah it's good, you can tell it's used because the forks look long, if you run modern forks On them they're too short and the bike handles like a shopping trolley.

I like it (in a semi-nostalgic kinda way), but that poking out crankshaft end bothers me not a little. Have an off on that side and you could easily lunch the engine. Either put some kind of protection around it, or just machine the sticky-out bit off. It's not like it's serving any purpose. I assume he's running total-loss ignition and no longer wants or needs an alternator.

He's running a standard crank with no generator or starter gear, you'd have to get a shorter crank pin made to not have that lump, which would be expensive.

I doubt if he's worried about the engine, they're cheap and plentiful in North America as they were used in police bikes for twenty years, I think Kawasaki USA were still making KZ1000Ps in 2002.

He's done a fair bit of work on the engine -" Engine rebuilt, updated, ported and polished." so I doubt he'd want to start over with an unknown munter of a motor. He's done enough to it to completely junk the alternator, shame he didn't finish the job.
