In some ways i'd agree... but you're experienced and a good pace, so i think you'll be fine in Inters and even flourish. I can see you having a little bit of the competitive spirit going on, so you'll be seeking to keep up with some of the boys and even pass a few of us.
Especially with double the BHP of the little MT07.. I think i'll be needing an 890R.

All tyres are good enough for track use. Just can't be as heavy handed. Smooth is the key.Bigyin wrote: ↑Thu Jan 13, 2022 11:24 amI think i'll be needing something a bit stickier than my usual sports touring Angel GT2 tyresweeksy wrote: ↑Thu Jan 13, 2022 9:40 am

I've been given all sorts of bikes and tyres to test and they were all OK if you used common sense.
Full race tyres aren't always the best choice

Stick with what’s on there if they have plenty of tread left,it’s only tarmac same as the roads but smoother, you will know the feel it’s not a race you knowBigyin wrote: ↑Thu Jan 13, 2022 11:24 amI think i'll be needing something a bit stickier than my usual sports touring Angel GT2 tyresweeksy wrote: ↑Thu Jan 13, 2022 9:40 am

I was pretty much joking in reply to weeksy talking about bringing a more powerful bike
The GT2 were good enough for wet sessions on the last 2 track days as well as dry sessions later in the day ….. the ones on the bike now have loads of life left as rear was recently changed due to a cut in the previous one

It's something we all get sucked into at times, better tyres, better electronics, better power, better..... everything.Bigyin wrote: ↑Thu Jan 13, 2022 2:22 pm I was pretty much joking in reply to weeksy talking about bringing a more powerful bike

I'd say 90% of trackday crashes are exiting bends. Power on too soon. Gey the bike upright ASAP and get on the fat part of the tyre.Bigyin wrote: ↑Thu Jan 13, 2022 2:22 pm I was pretty much joking in reply to weeksy talking about bringing a more powerful bike

What made it funny was, the session before it a Ducati 848 crashed in the exact same spot. We were standing round and one of our illustrious member says "who the fuck would be stupid enough to crash there"Dodgy knees wrote: ↑Thu Jan 13, 2022 6:46 pm I remember this exact crash out of Pembrey hairpin being on film, posted on here, but dam me I can't remember who.
Next session he went out and crashes exactly the same spot.
Mrs weeksy took 2 injured Muppets to hospital. It go a million times funnier back at the hotel later, next time I see ya, I'll give you the full story.

Re: 2022 RTTL Pembrey trackday extravaganza. Sept 2/3/4
Afternoon All
OK - this is how it works then :
Bookings wise - All official bookings will be done via our Secure On line Booking system. In a month or so I'll be posting you a specific RTTL internet link - which only u lot can see. You'll use this to book - please put in your real name and specific E mail address as I'll be using this to send you the Final Instructions / Safety Briefing and Disclaimers. Please do NOT book unless you're 100% about attending.
There's a wealth of information on our web site so please have a read of this - and the Terms and Conditions - especially the refund bit !
I've reserved a number of places for RTTL riders already so they don't clash with our retail bookings. But September is traditionally a very busy time for us - and as we're running limited number events - 25 max in each group - once they're sold then that's it. The event will sell out.
It would be helpful if you keep an eye on our web site and Facebook sites - for the latest info and gossip.
Between now and the event Steve and I will attempt to answer any questions that u may have but please note I'm not on here 24/7 so it may take a bit to get you some answers. Am sure some of the more experienced TD riders will be able to help out as well so ta for this.
Due to the ever changing COVID stuff I'll confirm circuit access/ Event timings / etc closer to the date.
Apart from this just remember Front Brake Lever protectors and Back Protectors are now mandatory for all events. I'm not going to get into conversations regarding what constitutes a ''Back Protector'' - but if you're quite happy to stuff a bit of cardboard down your back to flout the system then so be it...Air Suits are exempt.
Cheers
Alan.
