The food looks amazing, you're clearly very talented, but I couldn't sit through it, I'd have the raging hump at little tit-bits and teasers when I just want to get stuck into my grub.
Stick a couple of rounds of bread and butter on the side for me.

It's a talent for sure, but I think it appeals to people that go for the occasion, rather than because they're hungry.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Part of me would LOVE to go somewhere exceptional, with amazing food etc, just to see if i can actually appreciate it for what it is, if the food can really make me go "WOW"... But i can't stand the pomp and faff that comes with it, the white gloved waiters etc... It would just irritate the heck out of me.Harry wrote: ↑Tue Jul 28, 2020 7:56 amIt's a talent for sure, but I think it appeals to people that go for the occasion, rather than because they're hungry.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Well not today because I've been a bit tardy of late in posting but Sunday I had the first pick of this years runner beans. A good 600 grams that only lasted as far as dinner time and then got scoffed with gravy dinner. Mmmmmm...
Got a good crop growing this year, so we'll be well fed over Summer. That's the benefit of not being able to take a motorcycle holiday in June when your veg needs proper looking after to get going!!

Granted, but that sort of thing must be an aspiration if you're in the design side of desserts ?formula400 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 28, 2020 11:35 amNever, it’s like being in MotoGP on a CRT bike, you might look good and do well but your there to fail.

Can’t think of anything worse.
Example croissants, at work it’s 2 days process to allow the dough to rest and develop flavour, on that show they give you 3.5 hours or so to make, laminate, roll, shape and cook. Pointless.
Yeah they have been a few ok results but that time is a joke and in realistic.
Now extend the times they have to really show some skill different ball game.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Took my hound to the vet. I had it on the calendar to take her in August for her yearly jabs, but a couple of times this week she had these strange episodes of heavy breathing/snorting. A quick Google and I surmised it was 'Reverse Sneezing' or inspiratory paroxysmal respiration to you, guv. Figured I'd take her sooner than later, though she's as bright as a button, so no real concern.
Rocks up to the vet, he asks if there's anything particular, I show him a brief video of the sneezing and he's as dismissive as I am, nothing serious, he says, takes the hound away (coronavirus: can't go in with the mutt), brings her back 15 minutes later, jabs done, tells me he's given her to once over, listened to her breathing and chest, no worries.
Just to be on the safe side, he says in grave tones, I'll give something for the trachea in case of swelling or irritation. We say goodbye. Nurse comes out, tallies the bill, hands me the paperwork and a bottle of Metacam.
This is now the third bottle of Metacam I have in my cupboard. I'm sure I binned some last year as well. I'm pretty sure Metacam is sugar water designed purely to boost the bottom line figure of vets' books. Every time I go near the place I seem to come out with Metacam.
If it cures all I'll start taking the bloody stuff myself. Next photo of me posted up here will have you all commenting about my glossy coat and shiny, wet nose.
Woof.

Slept a bit as I'm on the night shift and walked the dogs before going back to work.

Jeez man,if yer gonna play be more specific please.
Was it 1 litre,2 litres,3 litres?
Was it buttermilk,skimmed,semi-skimmed or real milk?
Was it goat's milk?
Was it cow's milk?
Was it almond milk?
Was it lactose free milk?
Did you buy it in a supermarket, filling station,a cornershop or other?
Was it reasonably priced,so you were pleased with your purchase?
I'd be fascinated to learn the details.

You're right of course, it was more exciting than I dreamed it would be.
This morning I bought bread.
