I'm not against the idea. If there is evidence to suggest that Hitler, The Devil, Keir Starmer, Jeremy Corbyn or Diane Abbott (a broad selection of imaginary, dead, Right and Left swinging Evil for you there) also broke the Rules then yeah crack on with the investigation - and if they brought the integrity of their Office into disrepute (I think probably The Devil and also Corbyn are on a last warning now) then they should resign.

The third party has been squeezed out - I don't think we can just say "yeah but the Libs are incompetent" that doesn't seem to be a good enough reason any more, it's because they aren't different enough. We find ourselves in a situation where you can be a massive, massive, incompetent twat and liar and still be appealing because you're politically the polar opposite of the other guy.
Also the frantic, celebrity, media-driven sound-bite way that politics is run these days makes it increasingly obvious those with real ability are avoiding it like a barge-pole. So we (they) get to choose our Leaders from a pool of those who are either : very, very average middle managers; traditional silver-spoon old etonians; activist cranks. Very few of our MPs who are competent genuinely want the shit that they would get raising their heads above the parapet - who would want that?
I never thought I'd say this but I'm coming around to thinking the proportional representation needs another look. Nothing will change whilst we continue to
- keep on with folk such as Boris, who has had a million chances to screw it up, but is still seen as "better than the alternative"
- vote in the alternative and suffer a new set of planks desperate to be different
If they were forced to collaborate, in order to form a government, would we start to move out of this? And make governing an attractive proposition for the more able?
