@weeksy
What are the timings on this ?
I can pull out of something voluntary I do , so could be there. If TF get my shock back to me I could be FS, if not HT.
But is it silly time in the morning or evening?

Can't be evening as it'll be dark.

I assume it'll be 9 something due to parking unless @Beancounter knows somewhere 5 mins away we can park and cycle to wherever we're starting? It's mostly up to him as I have no idea on the place

I’m fairly easy. Morning is probably more preferable but I wouldn’t want to start earlier than 9am because that means me leaving at 6.30am to be sure of being on time.

In terms of meeting point, Walking Bottom car park is always the first choice because it’s near the village and there are a couple of good trails which lead to it to end the ride. There are plenty of car parks on the hills but you’re finishing on a climb. Horses for courses, the hills have to be cycled at some point.

I doubt the car parks will be *that* busy next Saturday given the time of year. FWIW, when I go by myself I’m never there before midday.

If only. To be fair, it’s usually 2 hours from setting off from home to getting on the bike and starting the ride. I’m an hour from home to J9 of the M25 and then it’s usually another 45 minutes getting through Dorking and Abinger Hammer to Peaslake. I’m also the king of procrastinating when unpacking the bike. ;)

10am it is.

That's a date then.

You know the next question.

Where?

I've only been there once and met you up the road somewhere.

Walking Bottom car park. Post code is GU5 9QW (though on Google Maps that takes you on to Lawbrook Lane).

Trying to sort it. If start time is 10.00am that is doable. I probably need to be back in Shoreham by 14.00.
@MingtheMerciless - where are you based?

Still trying to sort the cover for my watch on Saturday - but assume it will be okay

Ps I will be slow ...

LOL it's all about a bit of fun, a bit of cake and a bit of a laugh. No-one has anything to prove here.... just a bunch of mates trying not to fall off.

I'm also bringing "Big Dan" and his 2 youngsters, 11/13. Both fast little lads, but the smaller one isn't the beast uphill like the 13 year olds... But we'll ride, regroup, ride, regroup. People can request different types of trails etc.

Looks like I will be there 10.00 (ish) with Ming and a mate Mark

It was the mention of cake that swung it. Will have to depart by 13.00

Well it's looking dry, if a little chilly potentially, but i'm sure we'll all soon warm up. :)

Despite the fact it'll be a bit climby, i'm looking forward to it :D

I wondered what his real name was ...
I may have another attendee - but very speculative at the moment

None of us have real names....

You'll get called random names throughout the day... The closest is Big Dan.... but that's only because it's so apparent when you meet him why his name starts with 'big' as he's eleventy three foot tall.

Hi mon ami, will you be doing the post-ride coffee thing at The Hurtwood on Sat? If so, what sort of time?

Cheers.

I would assume so, if not at the Hurtwood then definitely at Peaslake Village Stores given they sell cake.

Time wise is a bit difficult to say. Let me have a think and I'll drop you a message.
