The EU wants to reclassify natural gas and nuclear as green

Nuclear? Well it doesn't produce that nasty carbon dioxide, but natural gas? That's a fossil fuel. The Great Thunberg is not amused.

Whilst I agree that the statues caused some controversy but decisions to take them down should be done in a democratic way. Not mob rule.

The problem, of course, is that Germany will soon have closed down all its nuclear power stations and the Greens who hold the balance of power in the coalition are absolutely behind such closures, as they are also against the use of natural gas. So Germany is dependant on natural gas, largely from Russia, and electricity generated in French nuclear power stations. Anyone see the problem here? ;)

I'd like to see more details, there might be a good reason they weren't convicted.

I suppose we must abide by the ruling.

When are the pyramids coming down? Built by slaves to celebrate the death of famous African slave owners.
The pyramids weren't built by slaves.

That's just the latest spin on pyramids, Colston needed better PR and some wishful historians on his side.

I didn't know that.

Thinking about it, the Colston statue wasn't built by slaves either.
The pyramids then, like the statue, are monuments to slave owners.
It's a common misconception which probably comes from the stories in the bible, which some people treat as gospel :)

I think we should let the roving protesters throw the pyramids into the harbour.

And they’re not getting any tea until they’ve finished!

Funnily enough I was talking to an Irish bloke the other day on Zoom, he's in Dublin and he was saying there was a massive problem with foreign women being trafficked into Ireland as sex slaves, and unregistered exploited workers who are kept in dreadful conditions.

I googled it and there are loads of cases, you just jogged my memory because I thought I'd mention it on here the next time someone went off about the middle east again.

He was also telling me about a couple of families that have waged an incredible war against each other, is one called The Monk or something? I'd never heard about it, or the sex slaves.
No doubt it happens in Egypt, too, so quite why you went back to the Pharaohs for your bait I don't know.
