Looks alright that.

Someone will be along any moment to berate it for the lack of side panels tho'

Is it just me, or does anyone else find twin bar-end mirrors an odd look? I don't think I've ever seen a proper classic (pre-70) with 2 fitted.

Looks alright, but whatever you do to it, it's still an XJ900

At least the wheels will be lighter than standard.

I used to work with a guy who loved his XJ. I was never a fan myself, but this offering looks pretty good for a sheep in wolf's clothing.

That's not half bad. But then again, what do I know.

Have to put proper mirrors on it though. Instant lack of cool though that may be. Never liked bar end mirrors - especially the droopy ones that'll give you a view of your armpits.

I really like that, I'd ditch one of the mirrors too.

And the Pirelli Phantoms

Does kind of look like theyve just removed a few handy bits and swapped the wheels and speedo.

Turned a reasonably practical bike into something less practical.
Even the wheels being lighter is likely partly offset by em needing inner tubes.

The whole "Show us the ones you did better" is also a load of shite cos most of us arent gormless enough to throw away bits that keep the bike running better.

Naah, it might look ok but its more of something to show off than to use.

Your selfies are getting worse.

I think the XJ was a bit uninspiring in the motor department, there's no getting away from it. Probably the drabbest of the UJM big IL4s of the era.
It does make you wonder why anyone would make a tidier version to celebrate, there's not much to celebrate.

I quite like the styling.

I like it. I take Demo's points, but a lot of custom, or personalised, bikes are like that and I like that people build their dream bikes. Of course, the old adage of just because you can, doesn't mean you should, often applies...
