Manufacturer Specific Forums

Post by MrLongbeard »

Now this place is lovely, as was TRC, as was VD, a nice wee community of semi like minded folk, but you're always going to need a model or manufacturer specific forum to stay up to date and or fix stuff that falls outside the realms of general spanner twirling.

So which do you use?
For me on my current bike it has to be;

I use a couple of BMW fora, obvs. r1150r.net is pretty useful and friendly, mostly US based.

My only option seems to be an fz09 forum that's a bit crap.

I use Facebook groups mostly, they're usually more active than dedicated forums, not as easy to search or find stuff, but you do get loads more pictures and if it's setup right a good files section, the V7 UK one is great. The Enfield UK one ain't bad either.

Triumphrat is very good, I used it a lot when I had my SpeedTriple(s)

http://www.ukmonster.co.uk is what I use currently,

http://www.thegsresources.com is really useful if you have an old Suzuki GS, despite being very much US-biased

Whenever i change bike i always find a new forum as its helpful for specific knowledge and also second hand kit and parts

For the Multi i joined ducatiforum.co.uk which is a large forum and i tend to only use the Multi specific section. There is also a specific FB group for the 1200 Multistradas i was invited to, which again is excellent resource for questions :thumbup:
