What’s the issue you have with kids wearing masks? I realise it’s imperfect and getting the little sods to actually do it may be problematic but it’s no great shakes in the grand scheme of things, irie wrote: ↑Sun Jan 02, 2022 7:39 pm
Made the mistake of reading your post, my bad.
In France masks are to be worn by 6 year olds.
In England masks are to be worn by year 7, typically 12+ year olds.
Yet another of your dumb posts, a timely remainder for me of why you deserve to be and remain on ignore.
Bless.

If you re-read my post you will see that I disputed equivalence between 6 year olds and 12 year olds wearing masks. They are not equivalent.wheelnut wrote: ↑Sun Jan 02, 2022 9:39 pmWhat’s the issue you have with kids wearing masks? Re: Stealth Omicron
Italy, Spain, Greece and Luxembourg have all gone through phases of requiring primary school children to wear masks. In Ireland, the requirement was from 9 years and up, in Northern Ireland it is 'strongly recommended' that all primary school children wear masks on transport services. The CDC in the US recommends that children should wear masks from the age of 2, going against WHO and UNICEF guidelines. Yet for some reason it only becomes an issue for Irie when it's the French It's a bit odd really, given that these measures by the French are intended in part to avoid a full lockdown, something Irie has been very vocal about where the UK is concerned.Noggin wrote: ↑Mon Jan 03, 2022 7:55 amBut, your original comment was against younger kids wearing masks, no?

Quality post. You've literally just stated the obvious from both of the links (and even managed to get that wrong, typically 11+ year olds) and thrown in an insult. But at least you've managed to add a bit of meat to your post, instead of the usual link and a couple of words which give no insight into your actual opinion.irie wrote: ↑Sun Jan 02, 2022 7:39 pmMade the mistake of reading your post, my bad.Hoonercat wrote: ↑Sun Jan 02, 2022 5:26 pmFancy that, making children wear masks. Face masks are to be worn in classrooms in England's secondary schools to reduce the spread of the Omicron variant, the government has announced.

Children wearing masks during the "Spanish flu" epidemic of 1918 maybe Irie can remember it
It's not a new thing, people aren't more panicky now.
When people say "We're just going to have to learn to live with it" I agree with em.
The operative word in that statement being LEARN and if learning to wear a mask in confined spaces to help protect those more vunerable than ourselves is a bit more is too hard then maybe we got rid of the wrong people during Brexit.

Ah! Just realised the grand plan!
Put anyone who puts challenges, or asks awkward questions, on ignore, then have your own personal 'forum lite' echo chamber. Fiendishly clever.

I've asked dozens of questions to @irie and each and every one has been ignored or sidestepped. It's laughable really

Well said.Potter wrote: ↑Mon Jan 03, 2022 10:38 am Frankly I'd rather I die from covid than force primary school kids to grow up wearing masks.
The psychological damage from primary school kids only being allowed to socialise if they're hiding their face is not worth my life, I'd happily rather die than them suffer that. Kids being denied laughing together and enjoying the sight of each other laughing is monstrous.
I'd go further and suggest that if you're that terrified of dying that you'd put kids through that then you need psychological help.

Bah....go back a bit and most of us have. They invaded us after all
I can think of a much more obvious reason it's bollox. Asking a 6 year old to wear a mask properly is slightly less effective than a chocolate fireguard protecting a chocolate teapot.

These are the kids that are having to adapt to having no grandparents because there was no sensible guidance when wearing masks would have made a significant difference. They'll manage.

Re: Stealth Omicron
All of my grandparents died before I was born (and my mother died when I was 16).
You don't have to adapt to having no grandparents, you just have no grandparents.
