I love my Himalayan, but I would not have bought it if I still lived in Essex. It is superb (for the money) on gravel roads, slightly muddy tracks, and for pottering about on deserted back roads. But these were a bit far and few between where I lived in Essex.

It can cope with motorways OK, but you have to have it flat out. My 250 Yamaha X-Max feels better at motoway speeds. ​

The 650 Enfield's are the same weight, and good to ride, cheap to service, and are well made, but are not that exciting.

But what do I know? I'm looking at getting a BMW S1000RR for its practicality...

In all seriousness, it's probably down to a XTX or MT07. I've had an XTX and whilst I'd welcome another, this may be my last bike, so it makes sense to try something different? So I suppose it's all looking in favour of the MT really? Are there any known faults to look out for on these? They do seem to be the darling of the stunter though, which is slightly concerning, but I guess they can take some abuse?

I really should shift one of my other bikes first, as the wife didn't stop whinging the last time I cluttered up the decking with multiple bikes. I'm pretty resigned to doing the clutch on the Tmax myself and am getting fucked off with stupid enquiries about it from PCX riders lol. I may beg some garage room at my F-i-L's place and leave it there until spring, but I'm also waiting on a quote for repair costs from Gringos M/Cs.

I do have quite a bit of interest on the NCX, but there are so many messsers about. Agree a price in principle and they don't show up when supposed to and you never hear from them again? I do have a local bloke interested in it though and he has asked sensible questions and is coming over later this week to check the ergonomics as he is 6'4. That's the problem really as I can't be without a bike as I need one to commute on, but I guess the Tmax does have some miles left in it yet.

TBH, this all started out as a bit hypothetical really and a bit of bike content and a piss take at my varying tastes, but it does look like I might end up buying something? But when looking round and weighing up the pros and cons of bikes, it also brings me back to why I ended up with the NCX which really is damn good at what it does.

TLDR, I may buy an MT-07, but then again, I may not!

This one is also nice but MOT history says it had a noisy exhaust and a EML on. Although the exhaust is now standard and the EML is off.

The moto cage ones were a special edition with extra crash bars and some coloured trim, I think they were designed to make the MT-07 look like a stunt bike.

Me too, if I could, as he talks about it with youthful enthusiasm and like its his pride and joy etc. He supposedly has viewers coming today but is going to keep me in the loop. I'm babysitting the tiler and can't get there, but there's always another bike. Might offer him the asking price if he delivers, which the other one has offered...
