Thanks guys. A couple of mates I'll be riding with have full power Bosch motors, both derestricted, so that's a big factor.
I'm getting thinking the Cube 120 with the Bosch a with 625 is the way to go.
Ihaven't looked into insurance yet, anyone got theft cover for when they are out and about?
I looked into it, then couldn't believe the price, crap load more than it costs to insure my car!!
I tried adding mine to my home insurance and they didn’t do it, I changed to admiral and they covered the bikes to full value as an extra. Around £60 as I recall, I’d tried stand alone policies and they were several hundred quid just for the bikes.
My insurance is £180 for the year, at the next home insurance renewal it'll be included on there so that I don't have to have a separate policy. I didn't the same when I first bought the Cannondale.
Seeing the numbers of bikes being nicked around here is crazy to not insure a £5.5k (now 6k for 2022) bike.
My Trek Rail has the Bosch Gen 4 motor which as said earlier, Tour+ mode is brilliant which is effectively eMTB light. Trouble with downhills is that it's addictive and you always want to go steeper which more and more often means getting up the hills results in having to get off the bike and push the bugger. The eMTB changed all that, now I have electric uphill legs which is fucking brilliant.
