In the story, Canute demonstrates to his flattering courtiers that he has no control over the elements (the incoming tide), explaining that secular power is vain compared to the supreme power of God.


Unless the post was intended actually to compliment Macron, noting how he is deliberately implementing a measure to prove its ineffectiveness?

I saw you put that before but it seems like it's been rewritten by someone (a priest?) who wishes that was the story. Why would an ambitious king set out to show his subjects he's not powerful? The vanity version was documented 1000 years ago, when did this one appear?

Edit: I found this new version on christiandoctrine.com. I think they retranslated the original Latin and made assumptions they liked from it.

In France masks are to be worn by 6 year olds.

In England masks are to be worn by year 7, typically 12+ year olds.

Yet another of your dumb posts, a timely remainder for me of why you deserve to be and remain on ignore.
