Recommend me a bike?
I'm selling the Tmax and NC700X. I was going to buy another SH300 as I know they are great commuters, but before arthritis grinds me to a halt, I thought I'd go for another bike.
It needs to be lighter than the NCX and preferably easier to throw my leg over. c70bhp. Prefably japanese. Not a sportsbike. Or none of that as I don't mind going a bit left field. Budget £4k to £5k.
Wotcha got for me?

Cb500F ?
Small, light, only about 47bhp but it is a bit of a hoot actually. And over the last 2000 miles i have averaged about 80 mpg.

Re: Recommend me a bike?
What about a 650 Interceptor. Upright, not a sports bike (looks a bit like your old Thruxton if you squint), but they're only circa 50bhp.

If you can get an Africa Twin that'd be my choice. Sadly they're £6500+

Re: Recommend me a bike?
Wrong link.
However, I wouldn't touch a 790 with a shitty stick, especially if I was Taipin and had that trouble with the 690.
There's just too many potential issues, imho.

I've fought off the KTM yearning as I found the bent valve from my 690 when I was looking for tyre levers today! Its deffo Japanese for me.

FWIW I'm still tempted by an X-Adv. I recon they could be canny canny. Perhaps a little over budget but they seem to hold their money.

I can go look at it for him. That bike shop is actually about 100m away from Arkwright's shop from Open all hours
