Re: When/Where/Pics was the last time you rode your bike ?
My Nan and Grandad lived in Chippenham, Wiltshire when I was growing up and my brother and I would spend school holidays with them visiting all the local places, historical or otherwise, so I've always felt at home in those parts. The only in-between meals snack my Nan ever had was rock cakes in her cake tin and she'd halve a packet of Opal Fruits between us when we went out for long walks because "Opal Fruits, made to make your mouth water" was the slogan and she thought that we wouldn't get thirsty if we had a good supply of them.
Fast forward 30 years and around about Christmas I've ridden to Stonehenge for a rock cake as it's a fair distance and can be a bit of a challenge.
In 2018 I ran the event "Rock Cakes at Stonehenge on the shortest Sunday" for the club. Starting and ending at Newlands Corner I was eager to get back before it got too dark so kept a good pace going all day. I was pleased with my success at the end of the ride and rode home content. 10 minutes after getting home my Dad phoned to tell me that my Nan (106 years old) had died and when he told me what time, it was exactly as we were arriving back at Newlands. It seemed that she was waiting for us to get back safe and then she went to sleep for the last time.
I ran the event last Sunday as it was the shortest Sunday of the winter. I have never ridden in so much mist and fog, over 200 miles of it. I bring homemade rock cakes (mainly because of the price English Heritage charge for them) and people have started bringing their own cakes too so next year I may call it "The Stonehenge Bake Off". It went very well - one of those days when you feel even better on your sofa with your dressing gown and slippers on at the end of it.

That's a lovely post; biking, family memories, a poignant (dust in the air) ending.
Thanks for posting. RIP Nan.

We've had a week of cold, rain and fog; at least it's washed the salt away. Today there was bright blue skies and a rise in temperature so it might be the last chance to ride until spring. Of course it had clouded over by this afternoon but it was still quite mild and didn't look like raining so I managed to get out for an hour round the local back roads

First day of the year,I've got a day off & it's not icy,I had to get out on the Street Triple for an hour
Given the state of the roads I think my old XT600 would have been more appropriate
We've had some rain recently...

Taking the thread title almost literally, I found this pic. I think that it was the last day that I ever rode (and if it wasn't, it was very soon after). Albeit not my bike.
The 'know your limits' sign is rather prophetic. Not too long after that the balance problems started.

Re: When/Where/Pics was the last time you rode your bike ?
Last year I managed to get out on the bike sometime every month in the year. This year the weather and circumstances have been total rubbish and I haven't turned a wheel since November 21.
Must be others like me and that's why the thread is a bit slow.

Yes I get it,the only reason I got out for a spin today is because I'm on a weeks holiday, roll on spring!

Last time I had the Trident out was 1st January. Hopefully in the next few weeks I can get a break in the weather and get the wheels turned, even for half an hour!

Re: When/Where/Pics was the last time you rode your bike ?
This morning, had to get to the dentist for 9am. Was about 5 degrees and I was just about warm enough.
It's been a long time since I've needed to get to Chelmsford from Braintree way in the rush hour - there were queues of cars everywhere, basically stationary. Luckily there's wide roads and bus lanes so I didn't get caught up in it. I don't care that the bike is now filthy and covered in crap (it had a nice coat of ACF50 last night) - I'd still be queuing if I'd gone in the car!

I ride quite a bit even when the weather is shit through the instructor gig….. I don’t even think to take a picture of a crap covered 20 year old Fazer for the forum
I was out with a couple of kids on the roads today so if I remember tomorrow I might take a pic

Same here today.
Snowing steadily and bloody freezing cold. A day for the fire.
