Two Wheeled Sculptures
What's the bike you would have in a glass case, you never have to ride it, it doesn't have to run, it's purely an ornament in your lottery winners millionaire pad?
I'm thinking about mine, there are a few contenders, TZ750 Flat Tracker, Yamaha OU45, Freddie Spencer's CB750 race bike, Suzuki XR70 that Rob Mac raced at the IoM, the more I think the more there are, I'm going to need an industrial unit if I ever win the lottery, I don't think I can get it down to one bike.
Could you get it down to one bike?

Re: Two Wheeled Sculptures
I couldn't.
I'd want to ride it. At least once.
It couldn't sit in a glass case either, cos I'm a bit odd, I like to go sit on my bikes in the garage.

Re: Two Wheeled Sculptures
I'd struggle with this one. Can't bear seeing perfectly good bikes (or cars) all mothballed and never going to be fired up again. It'd have to be something that was never made to use like a movie prop or a design exercise OR an iconic wreck like Fonda's chop at the end of Easy Rider...I'd stick it on a plinth and call it 'The American Dream' and say it's art.

Re: Two Wheeled Sculptures
I doubt if I could either, but it was more of a "what bike would you like to own because you could" kind of thing, I tried to think of just one, but I couldn't decide on just one, after my next work meeting I might start posting pictures of them, but it's going to turn into a thread of pictures of bikes that I like, and I like a lot of bikes, a shorter thread would be bikes I don't like, there's loads of bikes I'll criticise, but not many I actually dislike, if any.KungFooBob wrote: ↑Fri Dec 24, 2021 10:45 am I couldn't.

I like all bikes. Even what most people consider shit bikes, you can still have a lot of fun with.

OK. Steve McQueen's TR6 Trophy from The Great Escape (but only if I can ride it on high days and holidays).

Always lusted after one, remember as a youngster seeing someone sheltering out of the rain under the M3 flyover at Sunbury Cross. One of the very few I've ever seen on the road.

But I love old 20's and 30's bikes, so if its really just for looking at, maybe this:

Probably an NSR V 500. With a slightly leaky glass case so you got a wiff of 2 stroke every time you walked past it.
"Of all the stories you told me, which ones were true and which ones weren't?"
"My dear Doctor, they're all true."
"Even the lies?"
"Especially the lies."
