What does Blair have to answer for? An illegal war that killed millions and destabilised a whole area.

Massive corruption within the current conservative party for a start?
Starting legislation to ban any forms of protest?

And just being shit at it is the worst crime.
Doesn't bother you? Maybe it should but IIRC you've said you were working in a massively corrupt country for a while so maybe not?

Blair complicit (at the very least) in the destabilising of a whole area? Hell yes but they had enough people who just saw the pound signs to do their bidding as well. That didn't exactly bump him up in my ratings but he's gone now. He's more or less out of the way. We can continue blaming him for it, maybe he'll keep his head down?

I have absolutely no idea why the people of this country should have to put up with corruption though. Do it and get booted out of office.
It does seem to be a common theme where people say other countries have shocking corruption but ours isn't so bad. I get that idea but all these dictators are banking in British overseas territories or in London banks so who's the bad ones there?

You're evidently willingly mugged by the shite propagated by the Left media that somehow the Left is less corrupt than the Right. In general the so-called Left has less £ than the so-called Right so have less opportunity, but if they had the opportunity they'd do the same. Fact Is that it's people, different shite but same smell.

I think those who voted Conservative are realising they were hoodwinked. They won't admit it but it's impossible to deny. And they're easy for all to spot."No, no, this is what we wanted!".

It would suit the labour narrative that the conservative voters were hoodwinked, because then they wouldn't have to admit that they haven't put a decent candidate up in fifteen years.
It is frustrating, I had high hopes that KS would make a credible opposition, but haven’t seen it so far.

It is strange times with Covid front and centre at the moment though, and the gov haven’t really done anything wrong (xmas parties notwithstanding) in their handling of it for him to gain any ground.

Different shite, but considerably more of it than was previously tolerated. Even the Tories are beginning to wish they'd brought a longer spoon to sup with.

One of the huge problems with UK politics is that BOTH parties are controlled by activists who are brainwashed into believing that their solution is best, despite strong evidence to the contrary.

Given a choice I chose Tory over Labour, but what I would REALLY like is a strong Centre* party that is ready to actually look at data, and adopt solutions from both Tory and Labour when appropriate.

* Please don't point me at the Liberal party. Wishy-washy do-gooders. And the Greens are worse, tree-huggers to a man (or woman)

I know, that’s the last thing we need. Hope it’s not catching because before we know it the country will be full of people trying to do good things.

That's the way politicians work, isn't it, promises bribes and bungs.

Oh, with a side order of 'no-one will ever find out' for the last two.
Clearly and it needs sorting out.

But until it is then it's rather foolish to expect the government to make life easy for you, you're going to have to do that all on your own.
So if you're pissed off then have a moan at Boris, then have a moan at yourself in the mirror and make some changes.

I don't know what I'm going to do now, I'd got a nice place in Europe lined up and now Brexit has bolloxed it up.
I'm a bit fed up with it but it's down to me to fix it.
Sould have sorted it before Brexit. Mirror - word with yourself :)

RTE news are reporting that Bozo's brexit negotiator Frost has resigned but been persuaded to stay on until January - Brexit negotiator Frost resigns in blow to Johnson - reports
Britain's Brexit minister David Frost has resigned over the "political direction" of Prime Minister Boris Johnson's government, the Mail on Sunday newspaper reported.

Mr Frost, who led Brexit negotiations with the EU, is reported to have handed in his resignation letter to Mr Johnson last week.

But the Mail on Sunday reported he had been convinced to stay on until January.
Mind you, the original story comes from the Fail on Sunday.
Blundering about trying not to make too much of a hash of things.

This popped up in my news feed: Ireland imported 23% of it's "stuff" from Great Britain before Brexit, it's now 7%.

You should turn it off, it's turned most of you lot into miserable bastards.

Do they have a "chirpy good stuff in the world" feed?

Dunno, keeping an eye on the facts isn't a bad thing is it?

Well as 'news' to me only seems to mean "doom and gloom stories" personally I avoid as much as possible. I basically get all my news from threads I don't want to open on here but do so a couple of times a day to make sure everyone is playing nice

I'm not convinced half of it is facts

I'm not convinced most of it is a good thing either.

It's all down to who you are as a person and tbh it doesn't seem to do anything other than make you lot angry, irritable and sometimes nasty, so, errrrm I'm not really into it.
