Re: Maybe Time For A Change ?
My last naked bike was fine. No real buffer of the head what got to slight buffer at about 85mph and pain holding the head still at 120 but real world motorway speeds i cant say i would prefer to have or not.

I’d say knowing what you like in a bike you won’t find that in any of the bikes mentioned. I’d try and find an older gsxr or put some heli bars in yours and a taller seat or lower pegs

Re: Maybe Time For A Change ?
I've considered helibars and probably worth a €200 gamble.
The last model will be 6 years old now. Shame.
Lowering pegs. Hmm. Will have a look tmrw. Brake and gear levers. Hmm.

Re: Maybe Time For A Change ?
The fronts on most modern nakeds do a decent job of wind deflection, its not like riding an old 70's / 80's naked. You might want to try one to actually feel what its like.
Also, hasn't one of your mates got a Multi? give it a try; a super punch 160bhp V twin, 17" hoops at both ends. comfortable, exciting, and a look that grows on you

Re: Maybe Time For A Change ?
I've got a modern bike with no fairing, I've got a 1982 bike with no fairing, the 1982 bike has better wind protection than the 2020 bike, both are uncomfortable at over 100 mph.
I've put a screen on the 2020 bike, which has made it better at speed, but not as good as my 1985 faired bike.

Nothing is jumping out at me yet. But thanks everyone for input so far.
Gonna get some Helibars for the GSXR. They've had some great reviews.
It's 22c today so gonna take it out with a more open mind.

Tuono V4 have enough Fairing?
Great looking bike, plenty of power, good riding position, but only half fairing.

Re: Maybe Time For A Change ?
Yeah sorry bud, I didn't read the first post properly.
It's a pitty they changed the Fazer look with MT10. Butt farkin ugly thing. Otherwise it would've ticked all your boxes. The Gsx1250F was a pretty good thing as well, but not quite the hp you want.
I had a Gen 1 and Gen 2 Fazer. Gen 2 was the biggest lemon I have ever owned, but the Gen 1 was one of my best.
If you could settle for 136hp the R1250 Rs would be a good thing.

Re: Maybe Time For A Change ?
Just took the long way to the vaccine place and it seems the grass isn't always greener.
When I realised that there's no obvious replacement I just tried to enjoy it.
The power is awesome. Sublime.
100mph cruising no probs.
Handling superb and the riding position suits the way I like to corner.
I stretched my legs for a few seconds every 5 minutes and no pain.
It's a keeper, for now. Not even sure if I need the Helibars yet. But it's the next step before a new bike.
And I just love the look of it. I've never bought a bike before just coz of the looks.
I have the Husky to just nip down the shops.
Thanks for all the positive input. Made my choice easier.
Now trackday in Gran Canaria in the new year.
Mrs Y this morning said she wants to go over to Jerez or Portimao.

I'd send some beer tokens but IIRC you don't drink any more.
Maybe a donation to your fave charity?

Re: Maybe Time For A Change ?
I sat on one last year and I thought the riding position was relaxed in comparison with the 80/90s race replicas, you might just need some footpeg lowering plates of your knees are getting cramped.

The suzukis have always been the comfiest sports monsters over last 20 years. I've toured Europe many times on various models.Le_Fromage_Grande wrote: ↑Sun Dec 19, 2021 7:54 pm I sat on one last year and I thought the riding position was relaxed in comparison with the 80/90s race replicas, you might just need some footpeg lowering plates of your knees are getting cramped.
Gonna be a pain to move the pegs, but in summer I did 2,000 miles round Spain.
Just need to wiggle my legs occasionally.

Ride faster, you'll use more petrol, have to stop more frequently, and therefore get to stretch your legs more often.
