I feel better after the chat in the bakery in that I can speak french and be understood.
I for one am impressed by your ability and desire to learn French. As you know, I'm trying (mostly failing) to learn Italian so I know how hard it is and the graft you have to put in, plus the embarrassment, sometimes, that comes with it.

Don't let one person put you off. You conversed in a second language and should be proud of yourself. :obscene-drinkingcheers:

Are you certain French is her first language and that she's not trying to learn it fluently like you are?
I am certain. She is French. She's just a fuckwit!!!

Thank you. I'm not normally wound up so much by this, but she's done it everytime she (doesn't) serve me and I know I don't speak that badly!! I know I'm not perfect at all, but I try really hard and especially so today with here

I'll just avoid going in when she is there to prevent getting wound up again!! LOL x

It's also easier to learn when you live in the relevant country, and I've been able to use a LOT of government training grant money to help me with courses n stuff. So have had a lot of help :D

I got too pee'd off with Duolingo. It wasn't teaching me things I'd need to say!! Who needs to talk about pretty pigs, monkeys, sharks and butterflies!!! (ok, yes, I'm sure some of you would find a way!)

One day I'll tell the tale of the English bloke asking for a bottle of water, the French waiter bringing a toilet roll then getting most his teeth knocked out. I was merely an observer.

I get supplied a VW caravelle for winter, it's got Michelin Agilis winter tyres fitted as they are awesome in the snow.
The car knows they are fitted and a little alarm goes off every time I go over 100KMH telling me I shouldn't because I have winter tyres fitted. The winter tyres I have fitted are H rated, that means they are rated upto 130MPH. So stop fecking beeping !

Wife's PCR test came back positive, 4th one she has done. She has been isolating since last week Wednesday as well. So can actually get to enjoy Christmas.... now I have to stay negative!

Washer drier has thrown an error.

It was only purchased in March.

They're sending out an engineer on the 30th to fix it.

Maybe I shouldn't have bought a cheap chinese one.

Eastbourne town centre parking charges. The parking machines should be wearing a bandana and holding a musket.

I'm regretting buying a washer/dryer at all after the first few days of use. It does neither well and is loaded with useless eco bollox.

I was really pleased a few months back when I saw the nearest mass vaccination centre was on Eastbourne seafront, great planning NHS. Fortunately I didn't need to go far inland to find free parking.

In the same vein.... companies (eg insurance companies) who 'auto-generate' your policy documents and then name them something helpful like "pq9w8345ey9qheptoq70nt8q7weyto7qetqp3[4q-7e8te79t-Policy.docx"

Even better are the ones (like banks) who auto-generate the document name as "Statement-2021-Dec-13".

Very useful.... yes - your bank, and your bank ALONE is where I download anything that might be called a 'statement'.

It's not beyond the wit of developer to add in a few details that are useful to the end-user.... eg "[NAME-Of-BANK]-Statement-XXXX-XX-XX", and I know it's not bloody hard because it's part of my fucking job to do just that!

There's probably some archaic piece of software involved that limits the number of characters, therefore ruining the opportunity for a friendly (and variable length) custom naming convention.

But you don't download everything into the same folder, do you? Download Barclays statements into Barclays folder, Santander into Santander folder etc. Blimey, even I'm smart enough to do that.

Download statements? Wtf for? I've got an app that tells me I've got no money, I don't need it written for me too.
