Maybe Time For A Change ?

Post by Yorick »

I'm currently not enjoying this GSXR1000. It's too track focused and not as good on the road as my previous ones. So thinking about what's out there.

We plan to do more touring, so want maybe a sporst tourer ?

The GSXS-F1000 sort of fits the bill, but a bit dull looking.

Necessities

Monster power (150 ish+)
Fairing
Currently on sale new.
Not an Adventure thingy.
No transformer lookalikes.

What you suggest ?

Whilst I agree with you did you miss the bit in his wish list about the fairing?

Fit a set of Mandlebars on the current steed.

Z1000SX, though not as much power as you'd like, 142 not 150+

All the bikes I suggested have budget suspension, you'd get a better bike by working out what you don't like about the one you have and fixing it.

Thought about that, but it's also hurting me knees. And not much fun pillion.

I know a couple of people with them who like them, but they didn't have a GSXR1000 before. I reckon you'd need to think about a new rear shock if you bought one.

That isn't going to make it to 22. This is the "sports tourer" from the big S for next year. Does mean you may pick up a good run out deal on the GSXS!

Slightly left field but the KTM 1290GT has to tick a lot of boxes.

I sure they do a touring version of the MT-10 too.

Neither are 'quite' faired, but they're not exactly nakeds too and will both help on the knees.

A bike without a fairing is like a car with no windscreen.

The KTM is too ugly and pointy. I hate those transformer lookalikes.

I liked the sdgt 1st edition, but the 2nd one has that god forsaken headlight, horrid design. 😝
