People sometimes ask where I get my information about biking skills - usually politely, sometimes less so.
Well, the simple answer is that a lot of it I learned the hard way - by personal experience. So I write a lot about staying upright because I think crashing shouldn't be a necessary part of riding experience. At the same time, I've always thought that to write convincingly about any topic, an insider perspective helps. And I have to admit that in the early days of my riding career - both as a learner and then as a courier - my perspective was often horizontal.
So for the next few weeks over on my Ko-Fi page, I'll give you some light-hearted insights into some of the crashes I survived. And if you see the error of my ways, maybe, just maybe, that will give YOU a better chance of avoiding making the same mistakes.
Here's the first of my 'Crash like a pro' series - all about the consequences of braking on ice cream.
