Well was the first day on the bike, so it was a novice, i'm an experienced novice But in simple terms, it was just an interesting thing to see the tyre wear as much as anything on both mine and hers.

Must admit, i'm sitting here with some exhaust thoughts today.

I'm thinking "Hmmmm does the standard XSR exhaust suit the lines/looks better" followed by "should i get the headers ceramic coated" or i could arguably get them blasted to remove the black and see how that looks...
Replacing with another, well that's financially restrictive as that's coming in at £400-750 depending on the budget Black Widow up to an Akra/Termi.

Personally prefer the look of the second (MT?) exhaust but I'd have that coated black rather than shiny....

Just bite the bullet and go for the Akrapovic. They look great, sound good and the weight saving is a bonus as well

It'd be a no-brainer for me- standard XSR system ceramic coated, just so much nicer looking and suited to the rest of the bike IMO
An added bonus is that Zircotec ( the lot I mentioned who I got the quote for the Dragster exhaust quote from , and arguably one of the most experienced/established at it ) are only just down the road from you

Personally I'd be fitting some rearsets and looking to put some more weight on the front end of the bike.
Good effort at the weekend Mr W.

Cos of the colour of the bike I think the stainless looks good. The black looks decent too, but it'll be a faff to get it coated compared to leaving as is. But if you prefer the black then I'd get it coated.

There was me thinking the pegs were high as is
One other thing I noticed was my knees didn't fit in the tank cut outs and I don't have long legs.

Re: Happy new bike day.... WTF, what do you mean it's a Yamaha ???
Why more weight on the front end ? I'm not experiencing any handling issues at all ? Sure there's the tiniest bit of instability when under proper hard accelleration but honestly, it's perfectly stable, 130mph+ was no issue at Silverstone, no wiggle, wobble...
Rearsets are not happening at all, this is the maximum bend my knee will accept before it's going to give me issues.

The original one looks the nicest by a long chalk to me, but it'd be down to the sound that made my decision, as I hear it more than I look at it.

That's the thing you see.... I'm just about to go out and confirm now, but i'm pretty sure the stock XSR sounds better and a bit fruitier than the MT09 one.

That looks like a bodge to me with how it pokes out around the swing arm.rusty wrote: ↑Mon Jul 20, 2020 1:10 pm 20200703_101523 by graeme, on Flickr

Yup, the XSR system sounds just that bit nicer, only a 5 mile test, but plenty enough to check.

I'd liek to see that side on as I think its the best if the bunch, but they maybe as I really dislike banana swinging arm on these Yams? and it may hide it a bit?
