We don't have a bidet in this house, my kids think it's disgusting that people have a shit and don't wash their arses afterwards. It's hard to get them to come to the UK because they don't like it, and this was the icing on the cake
My lad has never known life without a bidet, or at the very least a shattaf, so if he goes for a dump here he gets straight into the shower afterwards.

They've gone seriously out of fashion in the UK Looked at a new build some time ago and said 'Wot, no bidet?' and the sales person looked like I'd farted. 'Oh, no. We don't fit those any more, all our builds have at least one shower'. Most UK bathroom 'suites' don't have one in the range which is because they're really useful - besides their intended purpose. Shame.

It's just an excuse to make the rooms even smaller in new builds.

The last few months have been an endless flow of builders/sparks/plumbers/plasterers/kitchen fitters/bathroom fitters running through the house. I feel raped and violated. There is no hiding place from people,problems and dust. A week or two I could stick,but when it runs to months with more to come,I'm weary and need a good moan.

Oh and a shower would be nice too.

Visited a parishioner to do Holy Communion in their home. Then sorted out the candles for the Carol service and the tech stuff for the service as well.

Arrive home to find that I have received this rather nice flask to go with my RTTL mug! I'll fill it with palinka, medicinal purposes of course!

I had an early start followed by a 4 hour break then another 7+ish hours at work. So I decided to meet a friend in the valley because if I came back hoem (and maybe skied for an hour) it would be a lot of fuel used, time logged and for not a lot really (an hour skiing is barely a warm up!)

Sooo - went to meet a friend, things had changed so she was busy, but another mate had rowed with her partner, so she came out for a coffee, that turned into a long coffee with snacks because my first job of the afternoon was cancelled! Then I headed to the pick up point to find that the reason for the cancellation (fog at Chambery airport!) delayed the other jobs. So they shuffled the jobs around and I just had to wait aroudn for a different group to come in to be driven up to my resort. So, a weird day of more sitting/standing around waiting than driving

Nice thing this season - I get paid for waiting!! LOL Roll on January!

Apparently, about a year after you (and we) bought the car, they came off the market for around a year, then came back on at nearly £4k more, which messes up values. Why did you sell it? Can't think of anything similar /better....

We're poor so have never had one. Question is this: which way round do you sit - facing the taps so you can use them , or arse to the taps because that's the mucky bit? And how come you never see soap on a bidet like you do on a sink - do you just use yer haun like out east? No ta....

When we ordered it we were told a 1 year wait, it turned up 3 months later then VW stopped production. It's been a joy to own and drive, cheap as chips to run, just enough power to be amusing with the 3 cyclinder engine making it a bit edgy. A proper laugh with some gadget inside the cabin that makes it sound like a racing car, wifey was sad to see it go.

The reason for the sale. We've binned/donated/sold just about everything and have condensed our life into a 20 foot storage container and a camper van (see the van on the shed section). The car was the last big other thing to go. We could have parked it, a mate was happy to to pop it in a barn on his farm where he keeps his toys. But it's just something to spend money on and drive on the very rare occasion when we'll be back in the UK and close enough to use it.

My Mum fell off her bed last week and lacerated her leg. She's been in hospital since while they treat her heart failure (she has edema in both legs, below the knee).

She is in a great ward and being well looked after - we found a jewel of good care within the NHS. She was moved there on Friday and I left feeling very upbeat that she was in a good place for the weekend. She is having a medical review today so I'll find out later if she is being kept in longer.

It's not all bad - her package of care has been reviewed and increased and a proper hospital bed was delivered to hers on Friday and while she is in the ward I don't have to worry about her so got out on the bike last Sunday. It's the logistics that's tiring. Looking after her dog, working, getting ready for Christmas and sitting in a lot of traffic getting to the hospital and back. It took me an hour and ten minutes to get home last night, 5 miles. While that's normal for parts of London, I think I set a local record.

I'm ok, just tired and I haven't had time to enjoy or contribute here
