I agree.
Before Covid I reckoned on 6 years of downturn / stagnation, before signs of of an uptick, covid may add a year or 3 to the wider industries.

But I'm an outlier, I didn't buy into the doom n gloom of the remainers, not the bus of the brexiteer's, I took a punt on the long term not the now or the status quo.
For the short term it's working out like it's xmas every day work wise, and from a personal point of view it can only get better, well it would if they'd stop trying to foist a managers position on me

Or history may repeat itself, who knows? Economic success will probably depend on your second point ^. We recovered (unsurprisingly) faster, post-war, than the EU6 but then lost ground. Look chaps, Brexit has happened. It is done, and cannot be undone. So lets all stop whining about how the bus told lies and get on with making the best of what we have.

If you didn't vote for Brexit, tough shit. That little thing called democracy put you on the 'losing' side. In reality we are ALL on that side, so let's make it work.

As I probably didn't specifically say, the company I work for have suffered as a result but are working around it.

What more do you think people should work at to make it ... work?

As I've said loads of times, this sentiment is bollox innit? You could just have easily said "look chaps, we're in the EU now, it's done and cannot be undone" but then Farage wouldn't have been riding his gravy train for the last 40 years.

It's not an argument for/against Brexit, it's just a bit thin IMO.

I think if anyone actually believed the Brexit propaganda and is now holding their hand out for the extra £350m then they're a bit of a div.

Yes, and on a 40 year timescale anything can happen. We might join a very different European something, but it wont be the EU, and we won't be rejoining anything in the next 10 years.

Absolutely that^ just because a vote went against the way I think it should have doesn't mean I stop believing the way I do.
As Irie has been since 1765.

If people don't call out bullshit it just gets worse.
Lie often enough and they think they have a right to lie more.

For the avoidance of doubt that went for Blair as well as Boris.

Or, maybe I don't mind so much being hoodwinked by a clever scam but its quite frankly embarassing having a bad liar running the country.

I'm fine with all that, Brexit fucked me over too, but what I don't get is the glee people take in it not going right and the desire for it to fail just to make a political point.
But that's closer to democracy, every 5 years.

What does Blair have to answer for? An illegal war that killed millions and destabilised a whole area.
