That. It almost has me throwing stuff at the TV. They'll find a way to rehash Cummings and Barnard Castle shortly as well.
I've just visited the BBC news website, it really is very pathetic what they consider to be important, if the biggest story is "Xmas Party Cancelled" we're living a pretty good country.
What would you say are the three most important news stories for their typical reader?
Xmas Party Cancelled
Is Santa Claus a Myth or is it just the way he walkth?

Top Story on the Beeb for me is
- Assange extradition blah blah blah
- 54 killed in Mexico bus crash

The Xmas party is down at the bottom if you seek enragement

Maybe the others who were rejected might have been the types who'd leak footage captured at an odd angle on a video monitor? ;)
I can see why politicians would rather be sure of employing people who are 'on their side' given how easy it is to chuck political grenades these days.

Must give you a different order to me, though mine is now Stephen Port killings followed by Xmas Party Cancelled

But I don't think the BBC should be worrying about what they think people want to read on their news website, the BBC doesn't need to appeal to people, it doesn't need high click numbers on it's website or high viewing figures, it doesn't advertise anything, the BBC's news should try to inform people of what is going on in the world and let them form their own opinions

Inevitably there is an algorithm that "shows you what you want to read". In a way it has to, because then it can use your own bias rather than be accused of setting the bias.

Of course the BBC News website needs to appeal to people and maintain it's clickrate, if it doesn't it will be pilloried for being irrelevant as well as biased.

It sounds like people are getting the news that is most appropriate for them.

I'm not sure about that. I want to be able to blame 'the media' to detract from the serious failings du jour of the government.

It's funny how one year has changed her from rom-com lady to someone who looks like they smack cats and use incontinence protection.

So, back to the thread, hows those Brexit wins coming on?
Lose our major trading partners facourable rates(with a population of 400 milion +) gain a deal with Australia who have a dog called spot and a bottle of pop. The US might do a deal with us but likely wont cos we keep dicking about with the good Friday agreement and it seems many Yanks are actually Irish at heart, whodathunkit?
Ace car manufacturing deal, which we seem to have missed most of.
Fishing? Nope, erm look into my eyes not around the eyes.
Farming? Naah, erm, look into someone elses eyes, not mine.

And if the UK had still been an EU member exactly how do you think that would have turned out at the present time?

Not enough hours in the day for me to do all the work that Brexit has generated for us, win win, well providing work remember to pass it on come pay review time

More clients, from more countries, exporting to more countries than ever before, more inter-lab cooperation across the globe, these truly are golden times.

But aside from work, for me, it's made chuff all difference, no WWIII, no massive tax hikes, no shortages, same shit different day.

Well, I can tell you a few things:

Company I work for has had to form a partnership with an EU-based company in order to be able to continue long-established work and develop new.

One of our larger UK government clients has delayed letting projects because they have been working extensively on the implications of Brexit. A couple of those things they've been doing - and spending a fortune on - involved industries I work with, so great for them (Brexit quantitive easing?) But at least one has caused extensive disruption for residents over a wide area.

I am being deliberately vague, BTW.

That may not be what you meant, but it's my experience and implications for the UK and it's people.

Have you seen any disbenefits? Don't be shy, be honest. Even if you seen benefits and want to tell us about them, be balanced and honest.

So we should just take your word for it that had the UK still been a member of the EU "things would be much better". Riiiight

Uh-oh, the Internet seems to be broken in Sussex. Surely that's the only possible reason for a lack of response ... :D
