Parking Restrictions - the cost of not being aware

A council has apologised for issuing fines to cars after lifting them up to paint yellow lines underneath.

The double yellow lines were painted by contractors in Earley, Berkshire, on behalf of Wokingham Borough Council on Sunday.

One councillor said it was "like a trick has been played" on residents.

The local authority said it accepted the fines were "issued in error" and would be cancelled.

The contractors painted the new lines in Blackthorn Close at the request of residents, the council said.

But soon after the cars were lowered, the authority's parking enforcement contractors issued them with tickets.

in a nearby road contractors painted double yellow lines only for the road to be resurfaced two days later, erasing the new paint,
Even bland can be a type of character

Absolute bastards, not only the issuing of the fines themselves but touching peoples cars like that, I’m guessing they had refused to move the cars? I can’t be arsed reading it but surely they would have to move their car to go to work and such like.

Either way, someone touches my car like that they’d have a very sore face that’s for sure.

Round these here parts, notices to keep the road clear go up weeks in advance, followed by cones to keep them clear the day before, anyone daft enough to ignore all that (if it happened there) deserve all they get

Makes sense but still doesn’t warrant that, don’t give a fuck what anyone says. Two biggest outlays in life, house purchase and car purchase, or bike I suppose. There is other ways around things, see if they did that and caused a damage would they foot them bill? Boils my piss even thinking about it, touch my car I touch you simple as that.

They probably had a couple of attempts to paint the road before going to the hassle of getting a car crane in, I doubt I'd have much sympathy with the car owners for having them lifted. Traffic wardens coming round the same day is a hell of a coincidence.

Don't they usually paint the lines round the parked cars?
