Billy Hood gets his 25 year sentence cut to 10 years! They should have followed their own new laws and deported him.

You pay your taxes. What is the visible symbol that you've paid your taxes?
I understand the words you're using, but I'm still struggling to see a relevant point?

Some aspects of our civic compliance are visible, some aren't. Are you saying that wearing a mask is the only visible sign of compliance, and that it being a visible sign is a bad thing? What's your point?

Football, always lagging behind the rugby
England 89-0 USA:

To be fair though, a score in rugby is more than one point so the score should be more like 13-0

"Are you saying that...?" Can usually be answered by a single word: No.

However, I'm saying that your examples of our compliance don't have visual symbols of compliance. E.g. you don't get a badge to wear when you pay your taxes so that everybody can identify the tax dodgers.

Do you need a list of ones that are visible, including the other ones in my example? I'm still no closer to getting your point so I think I'll give up.

FFS, most things we do are a ‘visible sign of compliance’. We pay our taxes, we do 30 in a 30 limit, we try not to murder people too often, it’s not an onerous law and it certainly doesn’t infringe on ‘your liberty’ any more than any other law.
I can't walk into a shop, look around and spot the tax evader. You must be pretty smart.
Easy, they are the ones still using cash for £50 plus shopping trips.

Are you saying that, legally, the doctor didn't have a leg to stand on?

When I went for (outpatient) eye surgery at Moorfields part of the prep was drawing an arrow on my forehead in sharpie pointing to the eye they were working on :D

If I'm every unfortunate enough to need a limb removing - and assuming i'm conscious etc. prior to the op - I am definitely scrawling "NOT THIS ONE" in permanent marker all over the 'other' leg/arm.

The surgeon made the mistake of asking the his assistant if this was the right leg.

When she was told ‘Of course it bloody well is’ is where the confusion arose.

I can see that going very wrong when your gown covers part of the wording.

This has to right up there with amputation stories. A Royal Marine loses half his leg, his Liverpool tattoo with words below it now reads "you'll never walk".

We have a Blackboy Lane near us in PO18, every time I go past it I'm surprised the name hasn't changed.
