However, I'm saying that your examples of our compliance don't have visual symbols of compliance. E.g. you don't get a badge to wear when you pay your taxes so that everybody can identify the tax dodgers.

FFS, most things we do are a ‘visible sign of compliance’. We pay our taxes, we do 30 in a 30 limit, we try not to murder people too often, it’s not an onerous law and it certainly doesn’t infringe on ‘your liberty’ any more than any other law.

I can't walk into a shop, look around and spot the tax evader. You must be pretty smart.

When I went for (outpatient) eye surgery at Moorfields part of the prep was drawing an arrow on my forehead in sharpie pointing to the eye they were working on

If I'm every unfortunate enough to need a limb removing - and assuming i'm conscious etc. prior to the op - I am definitely scrawling "NOT THIS ONE" in permanent marker all over the 'other' leg/arm.

I can see that going very wrong when your gown covers part of the wording.
