My 2nd jab was in May, so I'm already there - can't get my booster until after Christmas ....
Double jabbed Mrs. D recently had the 'rona officially like, although thankfully not that bad. She still can't really smell though. She was jabbed about 4 months before me due to being asthmatic. I dunno if that's why I didn't get it. I had one positive lat flow but then a string of negative PCRs (Baby D too) and zero symptoms.

But yeah, my 'rents DGAF any more 'cause they're double jabbed.

Potter wrote: Wed Dec 01, 2021 4:52 pm Well I'm following the governments advice, I'm going to spend as much time as I can in various different boozers, without a mask.
I had a bite to eat earlier and two pints, it was lovely. I'm talking us all to lunch at another boozer tomorrow to meet friends and then later to a boozer in town with my lad so we can get proper wankered without the women moaning at us in case it gets a bit unruly.
Git.

I'm doing 'Dry Monday to Thursday'. Arching for a bloody pint, I am....

Well the other alternative is not to fucking go to parties with 100 other stupid fuckers ?
Are they stupid if it's entirely within the government rules?

The government are not asking people to make up their own sensible rules, they asking them to follow theirs.
AFAIK it is entirely within government rules to strip off your clothes in mid winter and try to swim across the Channel, but is it stupid?

Tricky one I know. Image

Not in relation to catching communicable diseases no.
The point, of course, is that it is not the governments rôle to prevent people being stupid.

And how I wish they would realize that!

The Nanny State is alive and well, and if more than a handful of people DID strip off and attempt to swim the Channel in winter they WOULD make it illegal!

In principle I would agree they shouldn't, but in practise they do.
E.g. Why is heroin illegal? Or speeding? If it's not to stop people doing something stupid.

Do we?
I always liked examining the law, so let's put this to the test.

I thought about nipping to get some milk, but the law says it's so dangerous that I have to wear PPE that covers my face, so I decided to do something safer, I consulted the laws and decided to go to a crowded pub, unmasked and get drunk with loads of strangers.
Once up the next morning (and full of covid) I can go to the Asda, wander round touching things, taking things off shelves and putting them back whilst choosing what to buy, then head off to work in the office where I sit next to Mary, she is pregnant, but it's ok, because I'll have a cheap paper Chinese mask on.

Nope, that fails my test, it's still not working for me as a sensible policy, but as you can see I am up for a discussion if anyone else wants to defend it :)
:flame:

YOu're not up for a discussion though. You've already formed your opinions and are just beating them to death with a big stick.

As I said earlier, it’s a pragmatic approach to hospitality. You eat and drink there, it’s difficult to do that with your mask on. It’s also optional to go to the pub, less so to get your shopping.

I went to the dentists last week. I couldn’t wear my mask there either,
