Loud pipes save... time.
I was at a set of red lights in Sheffield today, on a dual carriage way roundabout. I could hear a bike, I turned to look and the lights must have just changed as it shot passed me.
It was a Hardly, I think it was the same one MLB has, had frickin' loud pipes on it. So I sets off after it, he's riding like a bit of a nob, I like his style so tuck in behind him. We're in Friday afternoon city centre traffic, it's gridlock.
It was quite fun, but he thought his bike was wider than it was, so didn't go for the narrow gaps. Instead he'd just blip the throttle... and the cars would part like the red sea, it was hilarious. I want one.
On the subject of pipes. I saw an XSR900 in a bike shop today with the LC look-e-likey body kit. It had a pair LC stylee cigars on it!!!

It looks like an LC that's been in a heavy crash and now none of the bodywork fits.

And a dodgy coloured LC at that, but yeah it looks pretty damn shunted to me.Le_Fromage_Grande wrote: ↑Fri Nov 19, 2021 5:50 pm It looks like an LC that's been in a heavy crash and now none of the bodywork fits.

Exactly this, it looks shit and you can blame all the old folk trying to relive their youth giving manufacturers no reason to build new or modern stuff, instead building crap facsimiles of bikes from years gone by.Le_Fromage_Grande wrote: ↑Fri Nov 19, 2021 5:50 pm It looks like an LC that's been in a heavy crash and now none of the bodywork fits.

I actually rather like that!

Re: Loud pipes save... time.
I met up with some guys from the Sportster facebook page on a bank holiday Monday and rode with them to Southend sea front. There is nothing quite like riding with a load of Harleys. The noise is incredible. Cars in traffic will climb kerbs to let you through. People stop and stare! Then when we parked up in a very neat line with all the front wheels turned in the same direction, people came over and had their photographs taken with the bikes!KungFooBob wrote: ↑Fri Nov 19, 2021 5:41 pm I was at a set of red lights in Sheffield today, on a dual carriage way roundabout. somewhat more sporty exhausts are 'on the list' for better times, cos the standard just don't have that awesome throaty rumble!!

Iirc those moto velocity xsr kits are £1200 unpainted, but you do get a homemade subframe to fit the back end to!
