Re: What have you done today thread?
I went for a walk this morning. Partly to pick up some eggs from a friends place so I can do some baking, but also to try and relieve the hip pain I have (meds and heat haven't worked so far )
I now have the eggs - 30 mins walk each way didn't help the hip. Been trying a TENS machine and damn I hope that helps!!! LOL I have to go back to the same friends later as they are doing a kinda 'tea' for a few of us. And stairs are 'interesting' with the back pain!! LOL
Got to have a go at baking now!!

Just taken the Remembrance Sunday service for my Church. Packed, we had to get extra chairs out, but still managed to keep our Covid safe distances. Very good representation by our uniform groups, which was fantastic, with all laying wreaths and poppies at the War Memorial.
Oldest age on the memorial is 47, over 50% were teenagers.

Re: What have you done today thread?
We had the usual gang round for MotoGP, then the planned BBQ.
After all the meat stuff was done, one of the lads got his binoculars out and proclaimed that folk were out foiling (the new surfing thingy).
Apparently wrong wind the last week.
So he just jumped in his car and came back 90 mins later with a big grin
Most folk here have their board in the car for emergencies such as these
Pudding was had and the party continued. The wind has now stopped and warm enough to be still sat outside.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Well, the forecast snow hasn't Bad in general for those of us in resort but p'd me off for a completely different reason! It's been dry enough that I could have ridden to school the last two days, instead of a lift and a train yesterday, and a failed lift followed by a train and a different lift home today
Sooo - no school tomorrow as I have an appointment near Grenoble, but there's a good chance I'll be riding down to school Thursday and Friday! Hopefully!! If I can sort my back out!! LOL soooo, best take my lid with me tomorrow as the bike is in a garage by a mate's place (who is taking me to Grenoble) and ride it back to mine tomorrow afternoon!! LOL
Sodding well hate being without a car/vehicle that can deal with winter!! Not sensible when the public transport is non existent up here!!

Re: What have you done today thread?
Very exciting day.
New washing machine arrived. When the installers had gone I looked around and thought, usually when you spend that sort of money there's something to get maybe a tad excited about. Hmm..one big white thing where the old big white thing used to be. Got more pleasure out of a trip to Screwfix this pm for some new Mole grips.

(But I made sure that the installation chaps did I did tell them the story and they went a bit pale and told me that running a machine with them in will destroy it in about 45 seconds).
Edit: Soz. I read that as 'did you take out the transit screws?'

Re: What have you done today thread?
Spent half a day trying to get a GEP file for SAP that will allow the German office to export its Intrastat report in XML instead of ASCII (as is the German government requirement come January).
Several hours later, finally got the file, try to import it. It already exists. The option was there all along, the German accountant just didn't know how to use a drop down menu.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Left home at 9 this morning to go to Kent to view a car. Bought the car, well, I left a deposit. Rode home. Sorted insurance out and moved some cash about. Walked to station and got the train to Chatham, which involved a couple of changes at West Ham and then Stratford which I got wrong, sort of. Couldn't get a cab at Chatham station and after half hour remembered UBER. Got an uber to the dealership and collected my new whip. Just got home.
Buying a car from car supermarkets is hard work. They want to sell you gap insurance, paintwork protection, warranties etc. I said to the salesman if you have to go through this because your Boss is watching, then do so, but the only thing I'll be buying here today is the actual car. I still had to listen to all the sales pitch bollocks!

Re: What have you done today thread?
I think it was yes. The Merc is deffo smoother with almost imperceptible gear changes! I thought i'd broke it on the way home . I had cruise control and it wouldn't accelerate? I switched it off and it was fine. I then saw it was in eco mode as standard but it has that distronic thing going on and I think that slows it/cuts the power as you approach the vehicle in front?. I'll have a play about with whats what tomorrow or Friday.KungFooBob wrote: ↑Wed Nov 17, 2021 6:11 pmWas your 330 the 6 speed auto?
