he survived the wa,r perhaps they're a band brought together as remnants of other "shot to pieces" companies, going to bite the financial bullet and get an ancestry account and have a look they seem to have his full name in there. Just found amongst the bits left by Mrs rdbgee' dad a short history of the 50th Northumbrian division that bunch had a hard job, 2nd battle of Ypres, The Somme, to name two of their engagements. in WW1
