Well, not quite. They don't actually have that recognition :( But it was the first one on the page.

Luckily, little danger of getting 'guest publication' on HIGNFY.
A friend got letter of the month in Practical Poultry for his opinions on their guano. Insanely proud of it, he was. ;)

That sounds a bit shit.

Once you get south of the Canal Du Midi it mostly gets served chilled! Chilling red wine kills the flavour for me, although with the wine I buy that may not be a bad thing! :D
My brother served up French red wine from the fridge, citing local custom in southern France.

God it was horrible, I think they freeze it so that it tastes of nothing because at room temperature it tastes like vinegar.

So can we.

Although we do have to pay duty.
And VAT on the wine and the duty.

But the wine costs £3. ;)

My winter employers called to confirm dates and discuss details....

"we've realised you haven't had a pay rise in 4 years, so here's a 25% increase in take home wage, and you'll still get all the other benefits as before"

In the meantime I've been tyremonkeying (C) and today the boss said;-

"Mate, will you be about on the 28th, I'm taking the whole team go-karting and they all want you to come too"

not a bad week :)

Hmmmm...

Duty on a bottle of wine = £2.23
+ £0.44 VAT on the duty = £2.67
Can you really buy a bottle of good wine for 27p (+ 5p VAT)? :?

Maybe we should have a whip round for you if you're reduced to drinking 27p bottles of wine. :(

You can buy a reasonable bottle of wine for 27p, tastes better than some much more expensive bottles I've had.

We've been great pals with a couple for 7 or 8 years now. She used to be a pro singer, doing cruises and show tours etc. Made a few bob which bought them a flat here.
She was singing tonight for an hour in local night club as a warm up for the karaoke which goes on till 4 AM

She and Pen knew they were both ex singers, but they'd never heard each other sing.

Well J did 75 minutes and was very good, playing standards that the crowd like.

I told Pen to find the DJ and get the first request in for Karaoke about half way through.

The crowd loved J and it went well.

Pen got up cold and sang Ironic and the place erupted. Folk queueing up to congratulate her and 2 blokes bought her drinks

Irish passport has arrived. I can't post a pic because it was delivered to my old address in England and I'm in Ireland with my British passport. 🙂

Being woken at 5am by the Gremlinette, who has the sniffles and a sore throat. Ever since she could get out bed, any night time illness has been proclaimed by waking us up by coming in our room and then clambered into our bed, crashing out in the middle, infecting us with kid germs.

I don't know why, but it made me smile at 5am when she walked in, told us she didn't feel well, then insisted I get out of bed so she could clamber in the middle, then deciding that because she couldn't sleep she'd keep us awake with her musings on the world in general.

She may be 17, but she'll always be my little girl. :D

I've used Karrimor boots and shoes for years and always happy with the quality. And in the UK they were always waterproof. Currently have 2 pairs of the shoes including these Hot Rock jobbies.

Anyway over here the suede gets ingrained with the dirt on the trails.
So while I was jet washing the dirt bikes, I decided to jet wash them as they were on my feet ;)

They came up lovely and my socks were bone dry inside. Quite a surprise :)

Never use a powerful Karcher pressure washer to get the dirt and crap from cleaning the patio off your flip-flops whilst wearing them. It's really, really painful.

I will not divulge how i know this, for fear of ridicule.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed the £7.75m he's receiving from #MUFC as a payout from his departure as manager will be donated to charity.

I may not be a Man Utd fan but he's always come over as a decent fella and this has cemented that in my head... nice gesture... I wish more people were like him.

My fellow fan here said that OGS was like the family hamster in its little wheel. Running like mad but getting nowhere. Needed putting out if it's misery.

He is undoubtedly a nice bloke and I think that is completely admirable if true, but I would expect something like that to be headline news and I haven't seen it- it sounds like could be fake news to me.
