I don't need drink to talk bollocks, I'm naturally full of crap.

Don't drink much these days so I can skip that part, music wise, I mostly listen to my play list on YouTube music, sort of ZZ Top, George Thorogood blues vibe going on currently
Longtime ZZ Top fan here but the early stuff. ZZ Tops first album, Rio Grande Mud and Tres Hombres being the go to albums for me.
Just got Paid, Sheik, Tush, Whisky Mama, Nasty Dogs and Funky Kings, Ten Dollar Man and Asleep In The Desert to round it off type stuff over the Eliminator album anyday.

Oh and as I forgot the main point of this thread, erm.. my daughters brought some gin over and we're partaking in Hibiscus and something else I cant remamber right now G&Ts.
Eliminator is a bit poor, shame because most people think that's what ZZ Top is.

I have simple tastes. Quiet and dark room, good quality hifi, chair in the right place, glass of single malt and some of the jazz classics. Monk, Rollins, Coltrane etc.

Fan of live recordings as well, I’ve got an earlyish fleetwood Mac on vinyl which is a regular. Joni Mitchell is a great shout as well.

Been down the rabbit hole of youtube for the last half hour and remembered thinking, the kid behind this will go places!

Wrong vid version but you get the gist...

Stumbled across this classic which I hated in my yoof obvs, but now warm memories

Love Sezza from the playing for change stuff, but she nails this cover...

Coke much!

Oh and I caught memory of an old colleague today and bought a bottle of Bushmills today. Irish Jim. Lovely man and the only Irish man I worked with, that wasn't known as Mick or Paddy. Well, apart from Ted. D'oh!

Ted was a porter at the LSE. Wore a stiff collar. Used to work on the bins for Camden and had a farsand stories about earning farsand of pounds in backhanders clearing things he shouldn't. Ted was great. So was Jim. Bushmills anyone? Just me then...

Reminds me of one if the long since 'messengers' from work.

Used to see me in the lift in my bike gear: "How you getting home?".
Not just once. Every time, but with a wink.

Back handers an acknowledged perk of the job.

Tried a little snifter of the Bushmills last night. Very nice and very smooth. Didn't have the harsh throat burn I get from scotch when I try it.

Generally triple-distilled, rather than twice for scotch.

Their special reserve is very nice. I used to get through plenty when I used to drink. You can only get it if you call in at the distillery,it's not in the shops.

According to the man in the Irish Whiskey Museum in Dublin... do you know what the most drunk brand of Irish Whiskey in Ireland is?

Powers.

No idea if it's true or not, but every bar sold Powers, you hardly ever see it in England.

EDIT:

Must be true, says so on wikipedia...

Historically, Powers Gold Label was the best-selling whiskey in Ireland

Hadn't seen that version of the video before.

Bit dusty in this room having just watched it.

Fair play to both Capaldi chaps for doing that and raising awareness.
