BMW S1000RR 2020 race / track bike with V5

Posting this more just for interest on costs rather than the particular machine.
don't get me wrong here... it's a LOVELY thing... but £48k to build a Superstock bike... i thought the idea was that Superstock would be cheaper.
Selling my 2020 BMW S1000RR race bike
The bike was built from a brand new bike last year (so comes with V5). It was built by PHR Performance (Peter Hickman Racing), and had no expense spared. It cost in excess of £48k to build to BSB superstock spec, and then a few extras. Can easily be changed back to superstock spec by swapping the brake calipers back to the standard ones which also comes with the bike.
It's done 4 track days in total, and never been raced.
Spec is as follows:
BMW RCK kit ecu with full data logging - including brake pressure and suspension
Motec dash
Ohlins FGR gas fork cartridge kit
Ohlins TTX rear shock
Ohlins steering damper
Akrapovic full titanium exhaust system
Brembo T drive discs
Brembo GP4-RX calipers
Brembo Z04 brake pads
Brembo 18-20 Master Cylinder
Brembo HPK underslung rear caliper
TWM underslung rear caliper bracket
HEL brake lines
BMW HP lightweight wheels
Afam sprockets
Tsubaki chain
Alpha Racing carbon chain covers
Alpha Racing clock bracket
Alpha Racing handlebar buttons
Alpha Racing handlebars
Alpha Racing lock stops
Alpha Racing chain adjusters
HM Pro quickshifter
Evotech radiator guard
Bonamici rearsets
Fortis bodywork
Dunlop KR slicks
Plus many more bits.
I have the full build sheet spec list for everything on the bike.
The bike produces 214bhp at the rear wheel on the dyno with a report to verify.
On top of this the bike comes with:
Original brake master cylinder
Original brake calipers
Original suspension
Brand new HP lightweight rear wheel + all spacers / speed rings etc
Brand new brembo rear brake disc
Spare bodywork
Spare rearsets / levers
Various springs for front/back ohlins supension plus tools needed to change

Nice looking bike. But you don't get 214 RWBHP without serious engine mods.

From a Superbike article that dates from 2014:
"We spent a quarter of a million quid building two superbikes and getting the right kit together, and then we spent another £400’000 during the season."
That was running Walker and Ellison.
Maybe double that now?

It says it's Superstock spec, so I doubt it's had any internal work?

Re: BMW S1000RR 2020 race / track bike with V5
A mate has one of those fancy HP4,or whatever they are called. When he had it dynoed for a flash, the operator was surprised it put out 206bhp at the rear wheel,he asked him if it had work done, but a flash and an exhaust are the only mods.
Those beemers punt out the horses right from stock. Still don't like them, though.

Just goes to show the costs involved in running BSB bikes.
I wonder if it’s been used on a wet track day

Even if a person got one and thrashed the nads off it others would still expect them to have a beard and smell of wee.
Maybe a new fragrance is required....the smell of wheeeeeeeeee!

I noticed it said it was Superstock spec but then said it could be swapped back to Superstock spec by putting original calipers back on that will be supplied ...... maybe lower Superbike spec with all the toys on but more top end SuperstockKungFooBob wrote: ↑Tue Nov 02, 2021 9:08 am

That depends on the difference between purchase and sale prices.

Re: BMW S1000RR 2020 race / track bike with V5
Calipers can’t be changed in superstock hence it not being spec. The engine could have been blueprinted or I believe bought from BMW as a perfect spec stock engine but it’s more than likely standard. Plenty of modern litre bikes put out 200hp with the right external modsBigyin wrote: ↑Wed Nov 03, 2021 4:35 pmI noticed it said it was Superstock spec but then said it could be swapped back to Superstock spec by putting original calipers back on that will be supplied ...... maybe lower Superbike spec with all the toys on but more top end SuperstockKungFooBob wrote: ↑Tue Nov 02, 2021 9:08 am
