Yes. They've been loaned a Zero too.

Sort of pointless then innit?

"Oh look at us being all good and saving the planet" and then when the media look away it's back to the gas guzzlers as normal.

They've also got some more off-road based new bikes too from motorcyclenews article.

Plus the single-use adhesive-backed plastic high-vis markings which will be peeled off and binned.

Nah. Good marketing, gets them seen and if enough people see them and think 'actually, that's not half bad' and a few buy them, jobs a good 'un. Maybe the bizzies will even take a few if the experiment has been successful. It would be nice if they published their thoughts on them after they hand them back.

Well that's nice that the Scottish police are happy to prostitute themselves as a free advert for an American corporation.

They've been doing it for a German one for 30 years.

But they actually use them don't they? They don't just hand them back once the cameras have gone. If the Livewires were theirs to keep it would make a bit more sense.

Maybe it's all about trade links, post-Brexit

HD seem very happy to try anything to get these leccy bikes on show. Perhaps this little PR exercise wont backfire quite as much as loaning them to Ewan and Charlie for their last trip, spending 100's of thousands of bucks building charging stations for them on the route only to still need a diesel genny on a truck to follow them round keep the bikes charged after riding at 36 mph to extend the life.

That was farcical and this one looks purely PR COP26 duties as no operational kit can be carried on those loan electric bikes or even radios apart from personal ones carried by each plod
