What's the bike your history says you should have owned, but haven't....

I chickened out at the last moment and two months later bought a 700 Transalp, go figure!

A GSXR 750Y at nearly 60 years old.

My mind was willing but my body just said ‘What the f**k were you thinking about’.

Fortunately the need for funds when I was buying a house gave me the excuse to sell it.

Yamaha OW01, I bought a YZF750 instead, they were both £5300, the YZF was a better bike, 4 years newer and lower mileage.

I really should have had either an MT-01 or a V-Max in my garage at some point, or both, I've never been interested in faired bikes and they sit well in the naked / muscle / cruiser bike category that I tend to gravitate to

I put a deposit on a Suzuki 'teapot' when they came out, but changed my mind* and never had one or even rode one. I should at least try to get a ride on one.

* Didn't have a secure place to keep it and lived in Newcastle at the time.

Never really got the TL1000S at all, only rode Doccas one and it was, well, ok.... the TL1000R though, that's a thing of beauty !

I recon I'd get on alright with one of them now though I've no burning desire to own one as my main bike. I wouldn't turn down the offer to have a go.

When younger I was close to buying a ZX7R at multiple points, but never did - it would have been the natural progression from the ZXR400.

I suppose at a later point I 'should' have ended up with an R1200GS, but stuck with the Rocksters (and glad I did so tbh).

RC30 as I loved the NC30 and should have had one when they were £8k, and V4 tuono as I love sportsbikes with proper bars

I really liked the red & white 4XV R1,but I needed my licence for my job.I still think it's a great looking 'Superbike' to fast for me though...

I've been offered one to use it as a track bike. It hasn't run in years (I think) and would need some TLC. Trying to find space in the garage.

Mostly whatever I've wanted I've managed to own at some stage. One notable exception is a Kawasaki triple,but I'm not dead yet.



I have also a soft spot for the older KTM Superdukes.

Being a V twin lover and having owned 3 Morinis and 3 Guzzis, can't quite work out why I've never owned a Ducati Monster, on the face of it one would be my perfect bike, with my history maybe I prefer bikes that come up a little short of ideal.
