The steam cleaner did roughly what I thought it might. Enough volume of steam but not enough pressure to shift the softened shite*, so it'll get done with kerosene.
Needs a new spring:
In pieces, ready for cleaning. The crankshaft and bearing are lovely and unworn which is a real yay from me.
*Poppycock, from the Dutch 'pappycack' meaning soft shite, as opposed to the Dutch 'stront' which is hard shite. There's lovely. It could also be steatorrhea, greasy shite. I'll stop now.
