I Reckon the zx6 did 22-25 days between fluid changes. It had new fluid last spring, it hadn't had any since 2018

I love the idea of scoring brake fluid based on its colour in a booze glass Presumably bouquet comes into as well?

There's been a rubber 'boot' inside the top of every reservoir I've ever refilled!

The 'boot' expands to fill the void.

Yeah every fluid reservoir on every brake/clutch system is gonna have one give or take, whether it be a Nissan Micra or one of them 300bhp supercharged Kwak. It is to minimise the amount of air which 'touches' the fluid for the reasons above.

Notice how there's always a plastic washer or similar on top of the boot though. That's to stop the boot forming a seal with the lid...you've gotta let air in behind the boot otherwise you might get a vacuum behind it, which would be far from good. You often have that little plastic grill thing for the same reason.
