Suggest Bikes for me to buy

7k will buy new and 2nd hand 6k or so gets a decent one which means he'll still have 1-2k to spend on some shit heap from the 80s along with a Kajagoogoo haircut and a bananarama t-shirt

This is a decent review of longer term ownership. Big thing to note for me was the swingarm. Sounds like it needs looking after.

The 1000 has the alloy frame and swingarm from a gsxr...but also 148bhp. So it's a different proposition

The looks of those GSX things would make me stay away from that end of the shop.
You've got £15k to spend and that GSX is going to feel very ordinary very quickly.

If I were actually going to spend £15k and not just talk about it then it would be on something that felt a bit special. Dragging yourself through purchases of mediocrity when you have the money to do something else is never going to leave you feeling fulfilled.

I bought this, enjoyed it, made some happy memories, sold it, and don't regret a minute of it, every ride and every time I even looked at it felt special.
Anything less than something special is going to leave you feeling half baked.

You can shut up, they do look very nice, and there's a dealer 30 miles away.

Today's plan is have another look at the GSX-S, then I might tootle over to Krazy Horse and have a look at MVs, I've gone away from the CBR because of it's poor finish.

My local dealer is punting the 750 out for £6999 brand new (well, pre reg) Not sure if they have the abs though?

The cbr650 hasn’t got a poor finish, you’re looking for reasons not to buy especially if you think a budget Suzuki is better finished than a Honda.
You need to take potters advise and buy something awesome even if it’s only for a short time. One of the best bikes I’ve owned was my 1199, I still think about some of the rides on that. I like my current bikes but the 1199 was a memory maker good and proper. MV, MT10 R1 etc just do it once

All new bikes over 125cc have had to have ABS since about 2016.

Shows the last time I seriously looked at buying a new bike!!!

Having flicked through this thread, that's the only bike that stands out for me. Not only good looking but also very purposeful. And we all know MV's are dripping with quality items with plenty of opportunity to just keep raiding the shop for ever more desirable goodies.

The comment by Pony about impulse buying helped, I'd never considered the GSX-S before, I like how it looks and it's a lot of bike for the money, it's my 6th or 7th Suzuki 750

Either next weekend or the one after, I'm not in any hurry for it, so I said there's no rush on it, needs a clutch cable adjuster and an oil change and it's ready to go.
